I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

You never know, I am guessing we will get a decent amount of members who will be welcome additions to our community, besides, this site is already troll filled, the only ones who suffer will be the ninja's with all that extra workload.

A new surge in users means a new surge in moderator recruitment.

Bungie would ne crazy not to show anything at E3.

Actually, they wouldn't be. I believe that Bungie should only show something at E3 if it's something that's ready to be shown. Of course I do want to know ANYTHING about their current project, but only when it's ready to be shown and we can get a really good picture of what it will be.

Dead Mans Hand-Always Loaded.

I WAS SOCK

I'm always looking forward to a new wave of members, and I'd say E3 would be almost a definite thing for Bungie.

I can't imagine they'd not at least give a little teaser.

Eh, I'll still recognize the old timers regardless of how many FNGs come to our door. On the topic of Halo forums, Bungie has mentioned that one day they might consolidate the Halo Forums down a bit, but there's no plans as of yet, and I'm certain that they will give us friendly warning prior to it occuring.

If Bungie is going to show us anything this year, it will likely be at E3, where the eyes of the world are already focused on them.

Wheres Meh Sniper?

I was once the noobie, and I was treated no differently than now. So I will treat them just the same. Some will stay some will leave. For the forums, I don't think they will be removed. I assume they will be re-named for the next game.

I'm sure they'll show something at E3 seeing how large of an event it's become and I've been here when the flood of new members appeared with Halo 2,3 and then Reach. Some real nice people but a lot of jerks too. But that's life I guess.

Кланяються мені!

I enjoy seeing all the new members to a degree. A majority of them will only visit the forum dedicated for the discussion of the new game. Of those new accounts at least half will be one time trollers who came only to complains about things they don't like. The other half will suggest stupid ideas. Then a small percentage will suggest something unique and interesting. Eventually a few will discover there is more to BNet than game forums and finally join the ranks of the community.

I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Also, don't hate on the ~Quinton~ at the end of my posts. Why are you still reading this? #creeper #hashtagcashmoney for hashtaging on Bungie.net

I feel like the people who are still here are going to become closely knit, I'm starting to recognize more people.

Bungie will likely give us a teaser, at least that is what I hope, they've been quiet for for too long. Has it been a year now?

Reach was Fall 2010 so assuming they began working right away it's been roughly 1.5 years.

I believe they've been working on it for a lot longer than a year and a half. I remember seeing/hearing that aspects of ODST and Reach are testing out things that are yet un known to us.

Shifting gears to the community now.

One thing I enjoy about the huge surge of new people is that new ideas are thrown around, and you get to "meet" new people. Also this surge won't necessarily be all new people. It will have a lot of "soft core" fans.

You know, speaking of destiny, I bet Bungie loves keeping us on a string. I could imagine whatever their working on having nothing to do with the word "destiny" and they just crack up laughing every time they see us post stuff about it.
Hanging a Poster with the Destiny Symbol and the Word "Destiny" in the background of their vidoc to throw us off seems both rather elaborate and very cruel.
I know, they are such tricksters.

Well lets face it, the forums are at quite a slow pace at the moment. When destiny comes out, I'm 100% positive Bungie will have something in the game requiring you to link your bungie.net account to obtain (Like the septagon in H3)

How do you guys feel about the surge of members that happen when new games come out? I know we saw one after the launch of Reach, but it passed.

Also, will bungie ever remove the Halo related forums? Since 343 controls it now...
I really hope they don't...

To be honest I kind of enjoy the slower pace of the forums, I like logging on everyday and seeing familiar faces. Yet at the same time, i think a surge of life will be good for the forums...

Also x2, do you think Bungie will be showing off anything for destiny at E3? I hadn't thought of it until writing this thread.

Amen.

To this whole post, I say amen.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I really enjoy posting on the forums right now, I recognize a lot of members and the "core" of the community really shines. I'm most exited for the hype period. During the time when the Bungie employees are dangling the game right in-front of our noses the forums explode with crazy ideas and uncontrollable speculation.

  • 04.23.2012 2:49 PM PDT

I am actually looking forward to seeing an influx of new members, I am sure there will be quite a few who will be able to add positively to the community.

A new group of members is something that you just get use too as time goes. I've seen people come and go from post Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST and Reach. After a while you just lose track of time.

I figure a new site update without even announcing their next game will launch us into a new generation of members. Their new game announcement will just add more chaos.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

1. I would like the forums to go faster so I could get many posts in a quick time.
2. The new people should read the rules before signing up, because ten year-olds with no knowledge of spelling tend to annoy me after a while.
3. I'm 100% certain Bungie will announce something at E3.

I wouldn't be surprised to see all the Halo forums become one forum, but I do wonder what they would rename The Flood, if they rename it at all?

Anyway, I guess my time here would be limited anyway. Just depends on how strongly I can keep my grasp on gaming over the years.
