I know how this industry works nowadays. People only give to craps about "Mainstream" titles, which means it's extremely dangerous that Bungie is working on a new IP. Not saying they're doomed, because Bungie has a good name behind them, which means there's probably gonna be a lot of press leading up to their games release (unlike for most games).

This industry is just broken. Just look at any AAA game nowadays, they're all part of franchises that started around the time of this generations release, or before.

If Bungie's game does well, which I'm hoping for, I expect B.net to surge. The average amount of gamers has increased over the past five years, so Destiny will need to (technically) sell less in order to beat Halo 3's population, which means as long as the game sells better than most, B.net's population may be bigger than it was back in '07-'10.

Everybody is anticipating the next big Bungie game, so Destiny will undoubtedly get the publicity it needs and deserves, and Bungie.net shall be redeemed.

@Vinyl_Hb

I'm just gonna come right out and say it... I'm scared of the children...

The large flux of member we will be getting will more than likely be 12-13 year olds who weren't playing or haven't played the Halo Series... and it scares me...

You know, speaking of destiny, I bet Bungie loves keeping us on a string. I could imagine whatever their working on having nothing to do with the word "destiny" and they just crack up laughing every time they see us post stuff about it.
Hanging a Poster with the Destiny Symbol and the Word "Destiny" in the background of their vidoc to throw us off seems both rather elaborate and very cruel.
I'm sure Bungie can afford a plotter. That being said, that's not all that elaborate.

Back in high school, my friends and I stole our other friend's keys and took his car out joyriding. Unbeknownst to him, we went to the nearest hardware store and made several copies of his car key. We would go in his car, move things around; go out into the school parking lot during lunch and move it over a space, or pull it into the space in the opposite direction.

He finally figured things out when we followed him to the grocery store one day and he came out to find it missing.

Good times; now get on my level, Bungie.

I agree, we have to welcome and embrace the new people when Bungie shows the most epic game ever.

On topic: It wont be any different from any other time it's happened.

The only thing that ever brings about any real change around here is how Achronos and moderators respond. ('Play Nice,' etc.)

The world is quiet here. -L.S.

See you starside.

I would venture to guess there may be a teaser at E3, with something more in-depth on Bungie day, what with the whole one of seven promotion. Entirely possible we won't get anything at all this year though.
As far as new members go, I don't mind the change in pace, especially since if it gets too bad you can hole up in the private groups.

There may not be a "I" in team, but there is a "I" in Win.

If they didn't do it at E3 they might do it a bungie day? I still can't think of what they'd do on bungie day without a game, so who knows.

Hack 343 and crash the Halo: Reach servers to a impossible repair. Forcing it to be a campaign/forge/firefight/non-xbl game

I don't think a surge of new members will be a bad thing. I look forward to when the forums are full chatter.

Yeah same here! I'm looking forward to it.

Giggity Giggity Goo - Quagmire

As with the last 4 Halo game releases that have came out since I have visited the forums there will be a new surge of people and some will stay and the majority will leave. I think Bungie should keep the Halo forums as they are a major part of what this site was and has been for the past decade.

To be honest I kind of enjoy the slower pace of the forums, I like logging on everyday and seeing familiar faces.

I think that the slower pace is nice. My favorite time on the forums is in that time ramping up to a release when the community pulls together and makes the large, elaborate, and almost wiki-style posts with speculation from the tiniest bit of info that Bungie gives us. It's really cool to see what people can do when they have a common interest or something that is exciting them.

Bungie would ne crazy not to show anything at E3.
Agreed. I don't know, I don't like extreme traffic in the fourms, but I kinda miss the speculation and constant discussion.

And yes, I think Bungie will keep the Halo fourms.

The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming.
Burn Bright, Burn Blue.

There will inevitably be dozens of threads asking what all of our shiny hats mean and how they can get one. The mods shall have a grand feast :)

throwning snowballs at cars is like doing a bell ditch. The end result is basically the same: sprinting away from the large man exiting his car who yells profanities, hiding behind a house, and watching as his car patrols the street, waiting to murder you.

Asking the flood for dating advice is like you going up to a bunch of starving Africans and debating the pros and cons of the bacon roll vs the double cheeseburger.

Some one who stands for nothing shall fall for everything.

Feeling ghey for having a high post count during surges and low after.

I cap fools.

I can't wait for the forums to get crazy again, like they did for Reach.

Yeah I like it too. I remember never posting because ever was just a blank face.

Now I have personalities to match with usernames.
