One, why would an advanced species such as the forerunner "evolve" into a lesser species such as humans?

ever watched stargate? well if u havent, here's a piece from it dat disproves dat sentence above and proves da dude's theory. there's these race of beings called ancients. they fuked their entire way off life up by doing a lot of stupid -blam!-... there wuz a plague in our galaxy and they moved 2 da pegases galaxy. they had a big war with a species dat sounds a lot like da flood, only their sentient and look way better, and they got wiped out. meanwhile back on earth da ancients evolved into humans, any of this sounding familiar????

ur theory has another loop hole, da forerunners created da setinel beam to control da flood, so dat means dat they could have easily wiped out da flood without using da halo rings, so dat means if there wuz a outbreak it wuz allowed 2 go on unchecked OR da moniters where working in conjunction wid da flood.......i know its has 2 many holes but it is entirly plausible...

First, this isn't Stargate (I have seen/own all of the seasons) and the Wraith and Flood are not compareable. And the forerunner evolving into humans still isnt the pinnacle of his theory anyway. And the plague the ancients faced was an actual disease, not a race of hell bent on killing parasites. The flood are alot more like the Gua'ld then anything else in Stargate. Secondly, please go to school and learn the English language.

EDIT: And besides that it's still just a theory. Nothing is set in stone from any theory until bungie finishes releasing all content that pertains to the story (H3, books, Halo bible perhaps). So nothing can be proven at this point.

Please re-read the last sentence from the first paragraph.

Thank you

yes u figured it out maestro, halo is nothing but a rip off of stargate. (sarcasm)

also maestro would it kill you to type "the" instead of "da" seriously its only one extra letter. i feel like im reading something written by a second grader.

Ok so now that we got the whole time travel theory down (which is really complicated, not confusing just complicated) can someone come up with a theory that doesnt involve time travel?

that way we got all the angles covered and im not bored enough to sit and think of one myself.

Master Chaoz,

Mr.Bannas has a great theory that doesn't involve time travel. I unfortuanitly do not have the link at the moment. Perhaps someone else does?

GRAVEMIND:
Your Prophets have promised you freedom from a doomed existence, but you will find no salvation on this ring. Those who built this place knew what they wrought; do not mistake their intent or all will perish as they did before.

This says it all to me..

Also, based on your theory, in the last line Gravemind should say "or all will perish as they did in the future!"

We need to break this unbroken circle. We destroyed the one ring, but we need to find a way to keep from repeating our mistakes. Or we will continue to meet beginning and end at these rings as soon as life evolves enough to become curious, creates space travel, and wonders about what is contained inside these unbroken circles. And then we're back to where it all started - no freedom from a "doomed" existence.

maybe there wuz no time travel invovled...maybe da crystals were a experiment and maybe da ark wuz just a portable shield generator 2 protect from da halo rings? its also entirly plausible dat da forerunners evolved from something else and de-evolved into us....

Now re-read what is in that qoute.

EDIT: Also your StarGate facts are off.... The Ancients ascended to a higher plain of exsistence. They didn't evolve into humans.

Wow... very good theory.... I really think there will ne time travel in Halo 3. The flood I believe was a biological warfare weapon the Forrerunners used to maintain their space empire. Now we know that when a ring is activated the otheres respond accrodingly. However I think that when the ark is activated an energy shield forms allowing the Forrerunners to pass to another uninfected time in space. This is where I believe that the prophets got the idea of The Great Journey.

The Forrerunner leaders would say the Ark needed to be activated and such then the ark would be activated. Then the leaders of the Forrerunners could pass through this time machine and continue their reign in the galaxy. After a certain amount of thime the Forrerunners could pass through time and then take over new planets in the future. Now how do they just come out of the past and into the future: Well I believe that what we saw in the trailer (the burst of white light) opens up the energy field long eneough that the Forrerunners could pass through and into the future. Now when this happens they, with their superior tech would just dominate the palnet and move on, on, and on then the entire proceesed would be repeated. In my opinion at this time a shaky alliance will be made with the Humans and Covenant(Elietes, Grunts and Hunters) to save themselves from the Forrerunners. The others such as Truth and his brutes will attempt to side with the Forrerunner "god" and be killed by their own gods. Finally in short the Ark does not cause the deaths of sentient life itself but allows the Forrerunners to kill and control the galaxy. Just my two cents. Very good theory EliteSlapPer.

P.S. sry for any typos
now youre talking...thats good stuff right there!!

Again, why (if they went back in time) did they not even TRY to stop themselves from discovering the Flood and creating the rings? According to your theory they brought the rings BACK with them? Why? The rings themselves contained the flood. Why bring back in time what chased you out of your own time?

Why would they "forget" to go back, or do anything to stop the inevitable destruction of their existence. Also:

If the forerunners went back in time in the ark and took the rings with them, the covenant wouldn't have any forerunner technology to base their technology on.

It's an interesting idea, but it's simple to see the flaws.

what if GS was talking about some coversation that he and the MC had as they were getting the index in the first halo game? He also could be talking about something that is not even related to that.

I think the forerunner/human time travel with the MC would be quite valid and that the forerunner maybe responsible for the creation of the flood, if the forerunners were in a conflict with the flood which they came across, the war must have lasted a long time,as to study, plan and then build all the halo structures and the ark this would have taken an immense amount of time and resources even for an advanced race but this is guessing as i dont know the average build time of a halo structure let alone the placing of it,staffing, quarantine of the flood, digging into the earth planting the ark or building earth around the ark,so either the forerunner were aware of the threat and built the halo's early (possible time travel interference with the MC warning the forerunner?) or built the halo's in a prolonged war with the flood

nice story...

although, i think the forerunners ARE humans. Its just my theory but maybe the ark is an alternate heaven. like, you have to pass tests to get into heaven, so maybe the forerunners did create the flood as a test for humans. If they passed, then they would be accepted and would go forward in time or something and join with the forerunners in paradise. If you failed, you would be destroyed and time would go back and you would be forced to try again. (hell). There are many different races (humans, cov, etc.) taht will either join forces and survive together or they will turn on each other and kill eachother to create flood (devils)

Perhaps next time you should pay some attention? I have heard of slang, and all it does is make you seem like an un-educated dumb****. If you want any respect around here, try posting in a respectfull manor.

Ugh, I hate it when people write off theories by saying "they won't use the books"- People, just because people haven't read the books, doesn't mean that Bungie, through clever use of cinematics, could fill in the story details for people that haven't read them... right? Or am I just on crazy pills?

Nice theory- I think time travel will come in to the story somehow, but I don't think it's going to be a circular story like what the main poster is thinking. I think that would be kind of a cop out for a story.
