So yes, after playing through the campaign there are a few things you start noticing that you never really did before.
Like the fun battles on the level Keyes. I was previously not too fond of this mission partly for being an almost copy paste of Truth and Reconciliation with Flood and partly because you have to save the captain again, but I decided that the fun battles between and the covenant and the flood and the introduction of the cool spec ops grunts made up for it.

I always liked Silent Cartographer and Assault on the Control Room, and after figuring out the maze part of Truth and Reconciliation that is quite fun as well

I think that the grunts and elites are actually quite fun to fight. The jackals are kind of pointless because they are weaker and slower than the grunts, and it annoys me how hunters die after 3 melees, despite being giant armoured beasts. The Flood are still as annoying to fight for me, especially the infection forms, and I hate sentinels, simply or being aggravating and constantly spawning on The Maw. Another thing I love doing is betraying the marines and haveing battles with them. On the missions Halo and Truth and Reconciliation it is actually helpful to kill the marines because then you dont have to go out of your way to wait for evac or open a door for them.

The weapons are actually kind of fun. The plasma pistol is by far the best weapon in the game, it has five hundred shots, and over charge and kills enemies very quickly. The assault rile and magnum I like using for grunts. I dislike the plasma rifle because it does less damage than the plasma pistol and has less ammo, so there is not really much point in it.

The banshee is the only fun vehicle to use on this game, I find it fun to swoop down and bomb enemies while have ariel dogfights with enemy banshees at the same time. The warthog, ghost and scorpion all bore me, most of all the scorpion. On AotCR I always pick a ghost over the Scorpion. I never really use the stationary guns

So yes, that is my new opinion on CE. I understand that a lot of you dont really take my opinions seriously anymore because I have a habit of changing my mind, but this is my honest opinion of CE.

-there's no doubt that the Grunts and Elites are especially memorable in CE
-Hunters are quite easy to dispatch but they're not useless. Most Hunter deaths will give you a checkpoint. For this reason, it's best to have a Hunter pursue you so you can kill him when you want that cp. Also, Hunters can be used to kill sleeping Grunts. :P

Think about it this way. Do you prefer damage sponge Hunters that camp with their weapon (H3/Reach Hunters) or Hunters that actively pursue you and can be collected in huge numbers and appear in cutscenes? I suggest reconsidering...

-Flood infection forms in CE aren't so bad since you can kill them with melee and with vehicle splatter.
-the plasma rifle can be a beastly weapon in the right hands. Also, it's quite prevalent (not as much as the plasma pistol though). You're especially going to be using it if you turn on Grunt Funeral in CEA.
-Banshee dogfighting hint: if you're being pursued, descend and turn and you'll turn the tables on the enemy Banshee
-the Ghost's plasma bolts are kinda useless I admit

Ahh bummer man, I think Halo is the best mission in the game. I find it oddly relaxing to just grab the warthog and drive around.

Mark, You should just make a spreadsheet for your changing opinions every week. You could make it a recurring theme.

I think it's the simple fact you joined Halo with Reach that you frowned upon the original. Halo is a brilliant game, and I still say Halo 1 and 2 are the best by far. Yes, Halo CE got a bit confusing at times but the enemies are far more fun to fight, you've got alot more options available to you (maps are far more open though still linear) and the weapons feel powerful.

Halo 2 nerfed this somewhat with it's ridiculous autoaim but the Arbiters story was interesting. Still, classics are usually better for a reason.

Yeah, Reach can be insipid in the normal realm of combat.

I thought it was hitboxes. Those Grunts with fuel rods don't have tracking.

It was a combination of both, sort of. Much more autoaim coupled with more hitbox/field of vision made it far easier to hit people.

I see. Yeah the fov does make combat easier.

Reach and CEA's fovs, as refreshing as they may be for sightseeing, feel awkward to me.

CEA's in particular is a grievance when meleeing with the sniper rifle. It's definitely not the same experience.

Games I like:,
Half-Minute Hero
MBU
Portal
Halo 3 is the best Halo ever
Maps I like: Turf, Avalanche, Pylon, Sandbox, Breakpoint and many more.

Sure Halo has a few problems, but it's a game from 2001. You don't have to mkae a thread about it. Your not that important :D
