Roll the dice, try again.

Would you guys be against having new "features" that are unlocked via Bungie Pro? This would be once Bungie announces their new project and has the "new hawtness" upon us of course, but I think positive behavior could also be reinforced.

Many websites have an "upgraded service" that you can unlock by paying for it. This does not give any moderating tools above any normal user, but adds cool unlocks for users that do donate.

This could include:
*Custom Avatar
*Unlocked Profile Background images
*Bungie.net "friends list"
*Ability to have an "add" on public forums for your private group

These are just a few suggestions. Again the point isn't to make the experience different from any other user, but to just give something back for donating to a company that we all love.

Thoughts?

Am I against the concept? No. I just don't like the given suggestions, for various reasons.

If Bungie does all of that, I'll probably stop my forum going. Sounds like a cheap gimmick.

Cheap gimmick? No. Think of it as "hey you're a kickass member that even donated to us, have some awesome swag for our forums and community!"

Just an appreciation gift. It could even be something simple as a star or webmaster icon that appears on your titlebar thats faded into it. Just something so people know that you donated.

I'm fine with a subtle "thank you" (like the ability to change your Bungie.net title to "Bungie Pro" or something like that), but I don't like the sound of throwing them custom avatars, a friends list, or the ability to have an "add" on public forums for your private group.

After a certain point, I feel like all the "love" and "thanks yous" are purely business.
