So we know that the Flood are 'multiplying' and that they could soon travel to Earth, and so on. But I was thinking, even if the MC defeats the Covenant and stops the Halos from activating, the Earths still all messed up, and then theres still that small matter of the Flood.

Then I remembered that the Halos are built with more or less the same atmosphere as the Earth, so they could be a good 'home' to the Human race if they win. But then theres still the Flood. Maybe activating the Halos is inevitable in Halo 3, so then the Halos could be put up for a better use.

Maybe in Halo 3, you have to activate the Halos, not necasserily as a last resort, but to be rid of the flood. But how could you activate the Halos without killing the Humans? They should activate them from the Ark (lets assume that the structure in the trailer is the ark), and then seek shelter inside it, while Others could slipspace outta there so they are a safe distance. They could then colonise on another planet out of the Galaxy, or on possible planets that they have already colonised on.

Then when the Flood is gone, and it's all clear, the Humans could move to the Halos and try to harness there power, aswell as all other Forerunner technologies, (They done a good job manipulating the energy shields from the Jackels- they applied them to the Mjonir Mark V [?] armor) thus making them the most powerful entity in the galaxys, and making the Covenant look weak.

"This is the way the world ends"

That doesnt necasserily mean that the Humans are to be wiped out.
Maybe there is hope for the Humans with those ancient, deadly rings...

-edit- Changed the name, wasn't really sure what to change it to though so sorry if it sounds weird.

Theres only one problem with that.....the Halos don't kill the flood they kill thier food. Cortana says that at the end of the first part of the Library in Halo 1 but good ideas tho.

Instead of activating the remaining halos why not use napalm on the Flood. They don't seem to like heat and plasma. If you read the book Halo The Flood they didn't like the way Johnson tasted. Maybe the chief should have condemed Johnson and let ONI disect him. I know the humans WONT activate the halos as a last resort unless it really does get ugly.
