ok, this has probably already been said, but remember in Halo CE that the ring was destroyed? well, that means that area of the galaxy will remain unaffected by the Halo's effect. wat if everything living escaped to that section of teh galaxy? they would live because Halo's effect would never reach them! the ark can be activated, and everyone can go to that section and live after the flood is killed! i kno halo doesn't directly kill the flood, but if they blockaded a small section, they could kill any oncoming flood. its possible, but probably unlikely.

plz leave feedback.

Q. What do you get when you add 1 man, 1 car, and 1 rocket built for a jet?

A. A black smudge on the side of a cliff.

Interesting idea; Unlikely thought. Surely the Forerunners would have the proximity of the rings overlapped. Otherwise, it would be kinda pointless to even try and stop the flood in the first place.

Actually I've read a LOT of speculation threads, and no one's said this and wow, I can't believe that never occured to me before. Opens all kinds of plot possibilities, doesn't it?

How creative can you be with a story someone else wrote? haha. I agree though I had thought of it but didn't feel like being verbally assaulted for putting things together. (Alot of people on this forum can not handle that).

And to mix some speculation here alot of people think the Arbitar will sacrifice himself, so he may be the one that activates the Halos while the Humans, Hunters, Grunts and Elites escape to the "Safe Zone".

this is what i said in the I CANT BELIEVE I DIDNT NOTICE THIS BEFORE thread...well similar...I said that maybe the elites can use their ships to bring humans to an area outside of the Halo blast radius so they can survive and later on repopulate.
