they'd have to have a 5 or 10 second delay on the camera in ranked matches or not allow spectators in ranked matches at all otherwise people could tell their friend whose playing where someone is thru cell phones

Maybe to prevent specific info from being sent to an XBL friend, they could only be able to see from the same point of view as the cameras in the gameviewer

How about you can be a Drone?

The thing like Guilty Spark but only like the Camera Drone in halo 2.

But if you shoot at it your bullets go through it, and if you touch it it moves out of the way without resistance.

Spectator mode leads to ghosting, people spectating and telling live friends where the enemy is. Happens in CSS all the time. And with a game like Halo where whoever sees the oppostion first wins, it might kinda suck.

Something like Gotham TV, where the leading are filmed by computer and the videos available to everyone, would be kinda nifty though.

Maybe lock the spectator's voice abilities while they're spectating. Not ALL of them, but just to people who are in the map?

I'd like an interface like the 'Punch it Chewy' ability in KOTOR :) I'd enjoy that.

It would be even better to have an instant replay button..OR have that little thing that shows what the person did to kill you like in Call of Duty 2.

God, you idiot, what about Elites.

i think the Camera Spartan should be the Oricle (that pink thing that floats around in backwash) that would be awsome

perhaps with this if you are the spectator you should not be able to use voice chat, so you cant cheat like that

That would be cool, andit would make it easier for things like Red Vs. Blue to film their episodes...

Spectator mode would be a waste. Nobody would use it; why watch a game when u can play it? Its like those games with one life; after you die, how long are willing to stick around? the entire game? i highly doubt it. Plus it would add alot of LAG to the game.

i say -blam!- that -blam!- you -blam!-ing -blam!- dont -blam!- things -blam!- -blam!- -blam!-. feel me?

Yeah, I agree- spectator mode would hurt the many network and latency issues that already exist in Halo 2- if we still have peer-to-peer hosting, I say nay to the spectator mode. If Halo 3 is hosted by dedicated servers, however, I might reconsider.

The differance is, you can move around the map freely in spectator mode, instead of being tied to a crappy (and a bit naseating) top-down view of one player. I've spent entire games in CoD2 in Spectator, and actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

Whoever suggested that spectators be Monitors, that is a very cool idea.

Except for the fact anyone could have an army of Spectators on their side in a CTF or Assualt game, using separate 360s w/in close proximity.

As much as a spectator cam would be tight, this guys has a good point, what's stopping people from having another 360 hooked up (like a friend's) and being able to see where everything and everyone are?

No he doesn't. If you have an "army of spectators," you also are down that man. With three guys spectating, that's three guys down.

Also, what's stopping the players on the team not spectating from quitting? It's extreamely obvious who's spectating and who's not; just look at the menu!

What could solve the cheating aspect instantly is 1.) disable spectator in ranked games, and 2.) you can only see the team you came from. So, if you were blue before you went spectator, you can only see blue team. If you went spectator before the match, you can't see anybody. You can see the grenades they throw and such, but not the person.
