Personally, when I think of Flood, the first thought that enters my mind is:
A massive influx of hundreds of thousands of gallons of water rampaging over an otherwise dry, arid, expanse of low-lying terrain (typically a canyon of deep valley with a river nearby and/or a natural/man-made damn within it's close vicinity {5 - 25 miles}). the resulting devastation of said influx of water can be any where from $0 - millions of dollars worth of damage depending upon the subject areas' habitation levels.
