Subject: Humans In The Halo Universe are larger than previously thought!

After looking over some data, could it be possible that humanity over the coarse of the 500 years of colonization has become larger. Average height for humans in our society seems to be about 5'6''. Average height in halo universe is 5'11' a 5 inch increase in height as well as a an increase in weight. A good 20-30 pound increase in weight. Statistacally speaking the chances of you being larger in the halo universe is greater as all of humanity has gotten bigger!

This seemed like pretty nifty information. So being parred with elites it seems that it is quite possible for a marine to weight a substantial amount. A human male usually weighs more than a female so a human male in the halo universe could weight 210 pounds as a standard mean. This means if the standard deviation is 30 pounds a human male weighing 250 pounds seems quite possible in 2530. Anyone willing to talk about this subsantial increase in human weight and height?
Average weight for a human in 2500 is 200 pounds

Any thoughts on this? So human information like The ex-spartan in glass lands weighing 200 pounds could be misinformation. She could possibly weigh more in the range of 220 pounds

Believe. Bungie.

So I am a little confused on exactly what we are comparing this information to. I think you are using the human weight and height of 2530 to put them up against an Sangheili. If this is what you are trying to do then I am finding this thread to be a cool nugget of information.

In my mind I had been comparing humans as we know them to the Sangheili, but when taking your thoughts on average height and weight I like the match up against elites. Now to make this more factual you would need to post the average height and weight of a Sangheili.

Edit: I found it. Average height range of a Sangheili is 7'5-8'7 feet and average weight range is 310-390 pounds. Now when comparing the "future" human averages of 5'11 and 250lbs it seems to me like a poor match up when a typical human marine faces an Elite. Although a definite improvement on what kind of humans I thought were fighting Elites, it still definitively isn't much of one but is an improvement never the less.

I believe that the tallest human ever, Robert Wadlow, weighed 500 pounds and was 2.72m, which is 8'11.

Not a good match...

No, we're comparing to modern humanity.

Well, i'm 6'7" so whatever happens, i'm... still gonna get beaten to death by an elite.

Aim small..........Miss small

The average height of a US male today is 5'11, furthermore, the human average height has increased approx, 4 inches in the last 150 years, if extrapolate that out, it would be a little over 12 inches in the next 500 years. Thus we could assume 7 feet tall. Furthermore, with the military only recruiting large humans, we could easily see 7'3'' humans. Though a little smaller than the average Elite, they would be much larger than portrayed in the games.

Oh ok. I was going to say, the OP is out of his mind.

I'm 5'4 or 5'5 and everybody at my school is taller than me. Even average people, but not by much.

So 5'6 being the average male height sounds like BS because I am only in grade 11.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I doubt we would grow on a general basis that much in such short time.

Where did you get this information?

  • 04.25.2012 11:42 AM PDT

540 years in the future, larger humans are largely feasible. So are trained super soldiers.

Why is it not possible for a human male to be 250 pounds now? I weigh 240 pounds, granted I'm 6'4", but still. There are people that weigh 600 pounds...

  • 04.25.2012 1:23 PM PDT

Ok sorry everyone I wrote that very late at night so I wasn't very organized. I was just trying to inform you guys that humans as previously thought in the canon were small and that grunts and jackals were near there stature. I looked up the average height and weight of a HUMAN meaning both means from males and females in the equations and it was 5'11m, 200 pounds. Average human today is 5'6 maybe in america it is 5'11(which I doubt because I am 6 foot and am good height above everyone in my school). This 5'6 is everyone factored in including short people in China, Indonisia, and shorter countires. So overall it has went up 5 inches.

I am just trying to share possibly useful information, we know humans are getting taller and bigger. In the future they seem to have grown enough to be formidable enemies for the lower cast of the covenant. As well as being possible matches for elites in combat.

I am not saying it is impossible now. What I am saying is that in the future the chances of you being instead of 6'4 240 to be 6,7 280 or even 300 pounds. The chances of a person being larger in the halo universe is greater. So if you are 6,7 300 pounds you now stand more of a chance against an elite who weighs maybe only 40 pounds more than you. Humans seem to be more proportionally bigger than elites. If humans were same height as elites they would most likly weigh more than the elites. A prime example would bethe spartans who despite being 7 foot tall weigh in the catagory of 400 plus pounds easily, weighing as much or more than elites yet being significantly shorter.

I got the average height on google as well as weight, and the average human height and weight in the halo universe from the beastarium.

I want Halo 3 back how it was.

Just think of the couple thousand guys in the military nowadays who are 6'5''+ and 265lbs+, and what will the future hold? 6'8''+ and 310lbs+/ My point: The rare individuals nowadays are tiny to the rare guys in the future.

And then there's the 6'11'' Spartan-II and 6'8'' Spartan-III, those heights are out of armor.

They are weak and small though, at least compared to the other Covenant races.

Your average grunt is 5'6.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

You know, I find this very bizarre. As a huge population exists on Reach, which has a heavier gravitational force, you would expect a decrease in height.

However, if there is an over abundance of humans in space, then you the higher high is expected but weight would be an issue as well. I doubt that a person would weigh much more if they were in a lower G environment.

Well considering MC is 6'11 and 265 unarmored and without the ceramic ossifications, 6' and 250 isn't too far fetched.

Where did you get the average human male weight in the halo universe is 250 pounds though?

You do understand the beastiarium has him listed at 400 pounds. A normal 7 foot tall person can easily weigh 300 pounds, wouldn't you think a genetically agumented soldier with more muscle mass, and metal bones weigh more than that -__-. And John was considered average among spartans not to big nor to small. So someone like Jorge instead of weighing 315 pounds weighs probably 415. Spartans were the best humanity had to offer so i am not surprised that they weigh closer to 400 rather than 300

I did not say average human weight was 250 I said that it was between 200-210 and that you could easily see more 250 pound people walking around than you do now.
