If you release any future games for the PC, please make a native Linux version available alongside any native Windows/Mac OS versions.

Many customers (including myself) who primarily use Linux-based operating systems (such as Ubuntu) would be forever grateful and extremely happy if you do.

If you really can't make your software available natively for Linux, at least try to make it Wine-friendly.

As I see it, doing this would set you apart from other game studios, drawing more positive attention to your game, and attracting a wider market.

Besides, you can't have world domination if you leave out the Linux userbase. ;)

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Bungie has made Linux games before and there may be some compatibility built in assuming there is a new PC game.

When I was a kid I used TuxPaint. Does that count?

Apparently, you're using a computer to view this forum, aren't you?

As for the topic; it really depends, Bungie is being too dark to talk about their next game, which includes all the information, such as "what platform can the game run on, what genre does the game plays, etc., etc., and etc."

Beside I don't think this topic will end well.

About 20,000,000 people worldwide use just Ubuntu Linux, but that's according to Ubuntu's website.

I also have a couple of websites - just really tiny ones, mind you - that frequently show Linux users accounting for about 5% of all visits to them.

Uh, no. Marathon was for Mac, except for Durandal which was the only Marathon game released for Windows. Myth was released for both Mac and Windows. What you're thinking of is Aleph One and Project Magma's Myth updates being available for Mac/Win/Linux.

As for their next game being available on Linux, that'd be cool, and something id does that more developers should do...but I really doubt I'll get a Mac version, so. Hell, I'm dubious there'll even be a PC version.

Well, Valve is keen on getting their stuff running natively on Linux, so there must be at least some good reasons to release on the platform...
