Personally, i've only visited this forum once since the start of the new year. While thinking about recent threads dealing with games not created by bungie (Battlefield, MW3, GOW, etc), a few things started going through my head.

1. Some users see these threads and actually feel inclined to meet and play with more of the community

2. Some users aren't interested in Private Groups. This isn't a problem, but some of the current rules really do block and sort of community interaction in terms of prohibiting the advertising of Game Nights from the Community Forum

3. I don't know about the rest of the community, but when i think of The Classifieds, I only imagine Group Recruitment. I don't see it as much of a place to say "Hey, come play Battlefield with the community 4/26/12!"

4. Even with The Classifieds in place, people still send group invites via Private Messages, rather than posting threads to advertise

I just wonder, what could we do to get more use out of The Classifieds Forum? Would it help to let threads go back to the top when replied to? Would a small banner on either side of the page advertising the forum bring more users? Would it be better if we let people advertise game nights in The Community Forum?

Spread the love...

I think if they put in a system in which Groups could be advertised while reading forum posts, it would be really helpful.

I barely go to the Classfields.

there is only two groups that can advertise game nights in the community.

the Classifieds serve there purpose the only thing wrong with them is that people dont go there to find groups or some one to play with.

I made a thread not so different than this a while ago. Here is some reassurance:

Why should we wait for the next ride along to have some fun community games? Why don't we all host ride alongs or game nights? As said in the Community Ride Along Events topic, we can use the Classifieds forum all we want.

All you want! The safeties have been removed. I have some minor tweaks planned for how the Classifieds Forum works. Soon. We will be guiding more and more traffic in that direction.

Make it yours. If you are looking at this post, you have accessed a website that is loaded with avid gamers. I highly recommend that you play with some of them. I have, and the experience has made Halo more fun for me than it has been in months. Meet new and interesting people, and stick plasma grenades to their face.

And, don't be alarmed if future Ride Along events focus on games that are not Halo. You are welcome to use Bungie.net to find teammates for any game you want to play. Bungie.net is home to a community as independent as the company that hosts the site.

I haven't even visited it once, I think it should just be removed. The traffic there isn't even high enough to significantly effect anyones group.

Not saying this is the best idea, but my immediate one is to allow all advertisement in the Community forum. This way users can find other Bungie Community members to play with, or find groups. Just makes sense until the name is inevitably changed back to the Septagon.

Bye.

Would putting The Classifieds' link above the Universe Forum in the community drop-down menu increase visitors? Maybe if it even got it's own tab?
