Who wants em. I personally hated all the bosses that halo 2 had. It felt like I was playing an old nintendo game. Beat the Scarab, Kill the Heretic leader, Kill Regret, Kill Tartarus. That pissed me off way more than the cliff hanger ending, which I deemed appropriate. Rather than one extremely strong boss, why not just let us fight hoards of enemys and vehicles. That is way more fun than waiting for Johnson to shoot Tartarus 3 times, and then have a 2 second window of opportunity. Anyone else agree?

Whats your time?
Im no forum ninja, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Bosses are ok but I prefer the massive battles with all 3.

One of the nice refreshing things about Halo CE was no boss battles. The boss battles in Halo 2 were just pure horrible cheese, especially Tartarsauce.

Yeah Taturus was to long and drawn out. Im all for hard enemies that can`t be killed in one shot, but it was the whole jumping around till Johnson shot him that pissed me off.It just slowed the end of the game rather than a fast and furious last 5 minutes.

I liked the scarab thing...that wasn't really a boss battle.

The actual boss battles sucked.

Yeah, bosses do suck. I liked the blockbuster ending of Halo CE where you had to race against time. That made things tense though you could easily get from where you needed to go with 2 minutes to spare.

I didn't mind destroying the Scarab from inside, unlike the other battles in other games where you needed you shoot a few times, dodge the big guys attack, then repeat till dead.

But I would prefer large numerous battles over boss fights.

I reckon drinols would be cool (watch the cutting room floor bit on the halo 2 dvd thingy). You could be in the middle of a massive battle and then the covies realease a drinol to smash up ur vehicles.

Halo 3 (31st), ODST (14th) and Reach (4th) Mythic Conqueror. (Mythic is Solo, Legendary, All skulls on + scoring on and no deaths/saves).

Beat the Scarab, Kill the Heretic leader, Kill Regret, Kill Tartarus.

I honestly don't see why people think the scarab is a boss battle.

It doesn't shoot you, you don't shoot it. Its more like a moving battle platform than anything. A setpiece.

you can get shot by the scarab in the last level if your good, and if you jump off the balcony near the first one, and run and get in the tank, you can get shot aswell.. the only thing i haven't tried yet is being crushed by the feet...
-note to self... get crushed-

Thats called 'being caught in the cross fire.' It never shoots you directly.

Sure i like the big challenges such as 'take out the scarab' but it would be better if it was less "boss fight" focused. That way you could do your own thing and not be forced to do exactly what "they" want you to do.

The Scarab battle wasn't a bossfight, and if it was then that's the kind off bossfight I want. Not like the ones with Regret, Heretic Leader and Tartarus which make no sense.

I think to spice things up a bit, the battle with Tartarus should have been timed. Even though Halo is activating, you can sit up on Miranda's platform the entire time and not do anything. You could leave it for an hour, and if Johnson and the elites didn't kill him yet, you can just pick up the controller and start again.

as far as i'm concerned, boss battles are retarded. maybe they were ok in super mario bros, but not for halo. it just didn't fit.

Why do people prefer large masses to fight? I loved bosses in Halo 2, they were what I like to call "Challenging", unlike fighting just a few boring Grunts and Elites, or just some Heritics [who actually are Elites, but you get my point]

Bosses in Halo 3. Yes.

It's not about the few enemies you're fighting, it's OBVIOUSLY about what you're trying to achieve as your objective. In Halo CE was it all about fighting through all those waves of flood and covies that infested the maw level? Of course not, they were just there to make things difficult. But it was all immersive and in-game, not some dumb cheesy arcade-style mini-game against a semi-invulnerable enemy in a locked-off area with some stupid routine you have to repeat to take them down. Weak.

Uhh they did bosses in most other games.. including serious sam. They got old long ago. Get some new logic.

It's not just about the number of enemies it's about the scenario you take them on. Having them all just run at you is not what we're talking about is it now?

I would definutly prefer kicking -blam!- out of huge waves of Covenant rather than a bloody Prophet or something.

Both are fun though.
