What about the flood? What purpose do you think they'll have in Halo 3? Do you think they'll even be in it? Do you think they'll ruin the game? Post your ideas about the flood here on this thread!

Will is everything.

I believe they'll still have a large part in Halo 3, as they are ultimately the reason the seven Halo rings and the Ark exist. Personally I think the Flood are cool as they are that huge wild card in the destructive war that's going on. They're introduction pretty much changed everything. How do you fight something that consumes everything? Well by killing every avenue of infection via galactic superweapons! On top of that the Gravemind was a total curveball. You could tell back to Halo: CE that Keyes absorption into the flood was the start of a Gravemind-like entity. Now we got to see the pinnacle of that transformation, and how intelligent the Flood can become. It just gets me excited for the new campaign in Halo 3. Multiplayer has its place, but I love the story of the series so far.

No way!!

The flood are not only utterly central to everything that is Halo, but they are incredible fun in the game!!!

I mean, I WILL NEVER forget that moment in the first game when you first encounter the flood. Outstanding, really just outstanding. As that feed played back from Jenkins video-recording I was actually starting to feel the dread creep into me... I really FELT that sense of "oh..no...something terrible is going to happen to me very, very soon"

When it's finished and those doors start banging before they burst open with a tidal wave of freaks!!! WOW!! Just WOW!!!

Let me tell you, my bowels loosened at that point.

I was running around firing at everything... they just kept coming. All I heard in my head was "Game over man!! It's GAME OVER!!!" (I was Hudson in Aliens.... and I was knee deep in an alien -blam!-storm"

Beautiful.

Then in Halo 2, the music goes all weird and there they are again. Those God-awful freaks. Intergalatic rejects. I hate em.....I hate em so much I want to shoot them...alot...in their face. Yes... because they are ugly and sinister and make me feel ill.

Anyway... the game's atmosphere is superbly enhanced by the addition of levels inhabited by the flood freaks. That's not to even mention their central purpose in the awesome Halo story. The one which will finish next year...

Oh yes.
