Subject: Should There Be A Post-Per-Day Limit???

Like how we have a 7 thread per day limit, should we have something similar with regular posts (replies)? Maybe 50 or something. What do you think?

I remember this topic coming up many times, and the reasoning against it is that there are only a limited amount of topics you can come up with in a day that can have valid discussion value, but you can contribute to already-established topics virtually infinitely without spamming the forums, like unrestricted topic-spamming would.

I agree with this reasoning.

That makes sense. But sometimes they do spam the Forums (mostly in the Flood), so this could be helpful.

No, spammers are countered by anti-spam time filter in between each post. We don't need more than that.

To your reply, Hoobla, this.

And even then, I'm talking about valuable contribution. Posting is a lot easier and a lot more widespread, so there's no need for a limit unless you're obviously spamming (see, replying really quickly so that there's no way you can be contributing, a la the spam filter).

Don't take away a privilege from innocent posters because you think it might cut down on spam.

A hard cap for posting is probably the most ham-handed and unwieldy way to curb spam. A Bad Idea.

Also, how could ken hit 100 in the summertime if there's a 50 post limit? Huh?

Perhaps a 50 post per day limit for all new users for up to two months after account creation, then?

My Screenshots / My Group / Remember to follow the rules or you will get trapped in a box.

It is not needed. A post per day limit would have no use other than reducing the amount of activity in the community.

I'm still not seeing why this feature is even plausibly considered. There's no real justified reason that could possibly make sense.

Well then what's the reason for having a 7 thread limit? I know you could say that more than 7 threads a day would make the threads have no discussion value, but you could have like 2 threads in each forum that are perfectly fine.

Nooooooooooooooooo.

I remember even Achronos said that is a bad idea.

How about a post per day limit of 0 for anyone who isn't a mythic.

Sounds good.

There's a logical reason for the thread limit which was (IIRC) established a few years ago after, you know, Watermelon King capitalized on the lackof such a barrier.

Wow.

But couldn't someone (like CENA) do something like that, but with posts? I mean, he sort of already does.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

Then ban him and move on.

Not everybody should be affected by that crap.
