*Checks Progress Bar after each and every post, refreshing it to see if it randomly goes up at all*

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I would sell my child for this feature!!

I like the idea of not knowing when you rank, because it truly shows off who is really deserving and not trying for the title.

No, for the same reason we can't see our post count: This site is not a competition.

The world is quiet here. -L.S.

See you starside.

I think its better to be pleasantly surprised by a title change, as opposed to turning it into an achievement system.

Unfortunately, the formula for member titles is far more complicated than just days of activity and forum posts. Additionally, that formula is kept secret for a reason, in order to keep members from "gaming" the system.

It seems that a lot of newer members try to "game" it anyway, creating ridiculous numbers of pointless new threads and spammy posts, but fortunately, most of them eventually figure out that this doesn't work.

All the same, though, a "meter" would only encourage this behavior.

Foman is simply trying to hide the fact that he can personally upgrade your title.

PM him and ask him about it.

Wise words...from a member who has truly learned how to game the Title System.

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

In truth I don't think it's going anywhere. Even if it's not the same as is, pretty sure we will still have some sort of title system.

Hopefully the title system will be gone in the next update so we won't have to worry about it anymore.

Tru7h. C4RN4GE. Bungie.

Encouraging activity to the site doesn't seem like it would do harm. Spammers gonna spam.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

The thing about titles is, you'll get one. You don't need a progress bar, it's likely that it would change people's posting habits.

Would we get one for prefixes? One counting up to exalted, Fabled, and Elder as well?

Looking for clan that isn't too serious? Then join the ODST 501st Airborne Battalion. Go to http://www.501st.forumclan.com for more info.

I don't want a progress bar, I like the mystery of when you will recieve a better title.

Just forty-seven more posts of contentless drivel before I get double Mythix!

I think people should use B.net because they want to. Not for getting a higher rank.

I agree, also the thrill of not knowing when your title is gonna change is fun too.

“I didn't want to wake up. I was having a much better time asleep. And that's really sad. It was almost like a reverse nightmare, like when you wake up from a nightmare you're so relieved. I woke up into a nightmare.”

I post just to show off my rank ;o

There may not be a "I" in team, but there is a "I" in Win.

It would be nice but I think it is supposed to be a bit of a surprise type deal, like I didn't even know I got my pre-fix until I re-read my post one day.

  • 04.29.2012 12:07 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

But that would take away the secrecy of the title system!
