Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.
-blam!- all of you fanboys!
That's to bad, because alot of really good competitive games, have elements of luck in them. And that luck is what makes those games so great. Because it makes it interesting to see what luck creates. Without luck, you get boring.
Imagine if you took all elements of luck out of a competitive game like .. 'Texas Hold em'. It's boring enough with the luck element. In fact, luck is the only redeeming value that keeps people awake and interested in the game in general.
And it is no coincidence that the same people consistently make it to the final table.
I also just got done reading some article about some TryHard MLG Counterstrike player who switched to poker.
Think long and hard about all the fuss you make over the luck that bloom introduced to the game. You should come to a sobering conclusion about yourselves and how you really don't even deserve to call yourself a competitive player if your unwilling to overcome something as minor as bloom.
I would think a true competitive player would welcome the challenge of overcoming it. Because like all true poker players. Its not about the occasional encounter you might lose to luck. It's the about the long haul, and if you're skillful, it will show.
Honestly, out of 10 battles, how many do you honestly lose to luck associated with bloom on the DMR? probably not very many when you consider all the other variables involved in each and every battle that takes place.
And, if your finding yourself consistently in 1v1 battles with nothing but DMR spam between the 2 of you. You're doing something wrong.
