Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

My care cup will topped off with a long island ice tea, once I find out Halo 4 goes to server browsers/dedicated servers.. Until then. I'ma be taking that care cup and spilling it everywhere. Until Bungie is no longer a company if I have to.

I will never stop, because Bungie created the ultimate insult to gaming with that damn quit ban. IF I were to stop, that means they won.

What does a quit ban have to do with bloom?
Not a damn thing.

Halo 4 is peer-to-peer.

Have fun.

Bloom is not luck; it takes skill to harness since you cannot trigger spam, you need to pace yourself. No bloom takes no skill/luck to use, it's just point and shoot, which would not balance out well with automatic weapons.

Luck creates excitement. Remember that. Before Halo becomes the most boring game in existance.
Players create excitement, the way they move, shoot and think creates excitement. Luck creates frustration, when you are better at all of the above and luck negates all that. You cannot adapt to luck as to alter your playstyle, while if someone is better than you in 1 of the above you can. You can only take luck as it is and hope it does/doesn't affect you when you need it.

I play Halo here and there, but never too seriously... Rage is for the mad of the CoD community, lets keep it clean.

Personally I am torn. Bloom has it's good points to me, and some bad. For the good it helps limit the already impressive range of the DMR to a more reasonable amount. I agree with those who say that a bloom-less DMR would be a bit overpowering. As it is on larger maps the bloom makes it so that you can try to avoid getting 5-shotted from across the map, and giving you a chance to recover. This helps keep (To me) the DMR in it's class of mid-range, and out of the longer ranges where the sniper rifle can hold it's place. On the other hand the DMR's bloom makes long-range engagements slow unless you regulate your fire quite a bit, which although easy is also annoyingly long in most cases where people go into cover. As a balancing issue then yes, the DMR should have bloom to try to keep that balance of mid-range. Framed in your question then no, as the DMR without bloom adds accuracy to the weapon instead of luck (Sometimes).

That's a n00b's opinion at least.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

51 people voted bloom.
At least some of them had to have been serious.

I lost faith in humanity. That actually is the first time that I've said that.

When your spirit is floatin' down the tunnel, toward the light, you know wot's behind the light? It's not god. It's me. And I'm gonna kick your --- soul all the way back down the tunnel, 'til you choke on your own ---'d up ribs. Now. Wake. The ----. Up!

Bloom and ZB are both perfectly fine.
I like bloom because I somehow always end up killing my friend with the outer edge of a magnum shot reticule in SWAT Magnums.
But that's just because I like crazy.
ZB is good for practicing and for DMR duels, or just regular TS, but I think CTF is a bit more fun when you have to either pace your shot and miss the chance to stop a carrier or spam the shots and potentially miss.

No Bloom.

Bloom has narrowed the skill gap too much, it's now difficult for players to stand out. I used to out BR the vast majority of opponents on Halo 3 but now i find myself constantly losing dmr battles. The idea of bloom was for people to pace their shots. Yet time and time again I find myself losing to someone spamming the shoot button and getting lucky.
Bungie attempted to make this game more accessible, similar to COD. We all know however that COD's main draw is that it is easy to be good at, even the worst of players can get huge kill streaks from time to time. Bungie dumbed reach down, adding completely unbalanced armour abilities and luck favouring bloom. Reach was a let down, it nearly destroyed the halo community. Hopefully 343 can fix the mess Bungie has caused.

Kill yourself.

Slowly.

Bloom is just plain stupid. They had it going great in all the other Halo games until Reach. Such a disappointment.

Bloom plus a kill means u have more skill. No bloom would just take all of the suspense and fun out of the game. But I still prefer no bloom.

Keep the bloom because if there was no bloom all the newbie players would just be spamming the DMR bloom makes sure that doesn't happen besides how annoying would it be for cross mapping kills to happen since there is no bloom? To ensure a kill with bloom you need to pace your shots but clearly alot of people just want DMR/ whatever weapon has bloom, so they can spam without worrying about missing so therefore i voted bloom.

I love bloom. It sure as hell doesnt work for multiplayer (unless they tone down the bloom crazy).

Campaign and firefight, it is awesome. Just think of it as a nice mechanic. Dunno, I just love it.

I don't mind partial bloom on LAN, but it just doesn't implement well online imho.

85 percent bloom works perfectly with the Reach sandbox.

On principle, I think that shots should go where the reticule is, and obviously no bloom is more competitive, so I think MLG and ranked playlists should be no bloom and other playlists ~85%

Funny considering that with bloom, trigger spamming was the best thing to do unless you were cross-maping.

Lowering the fire rate doesn't do much either except making it useless as a CQC weapon.

Marksman rifles aren't typically used at close range anyway.

And utility weapons are supposed to be good everywhere. Would you rather have your DMR not be able to kill an AR sprayer before he kills you because of a slow fire rate?

Yes,, absolutely. You use the weapon the situation demands.
