I want Halo 3 to be something in its own right not something redone. Make it a blend of all games while adding things in to keep it fresh and original.

Halo CE is Halo CE. Halo 2 is Halo 2. Halo 3 will be Halo 3...

Well said.

Think about this though, Halo CE, you never knew where exactly you were going, which explains the openness. Such as, AOTCR, when you got to the overpass where there were 2 banshees and the entrance to the control room on your right, Cortana says she thinks that building is where the control room is. And in The Silent Cartographer you have to go find the entrance to the map room, and go find where the security center is.

halo 2, you somewhat already know where the destination is, so open spaces such as in AOTCR would be wasting space.

Although that was true, it does sound dumb to quote like that about this here now.

Does this mean you doubt Bungie's storytelling capability?
Does this mean you doubt Bungie's ability to make H3 KICK ASS!

I agree though.
Halo 1 style levels+ Halo 2 graphics/cinematics=Best game ever.

If Team Swat became ranked, would there still be no shields?

Amazing!

Halo: CE had the better Campaign, while Halo 2 had the much better multiplayer.

To each their own.

Actually, the rumour that is circulating throughout the video game community is that the campaign is not going to be as linear as it was in Halo:CE or Halo 2. It's been hinted that certain objectives you choose or choose not to complete are going to have specific effects at later points in the game. Thereby, making campaign a little different each time you play if you choose or choose not to do something.

That sounds a bit like Halo:RPG. I'm on the fence about whether this would be good or bad. What I do know is that Halo 3 is Halo 3, nothing more, nothing less. Making it more like Halo:CE or Halo 2 is defeating the purpose of making a new game, and it could limit the ideas that can be introduced into the game. I hope that Bugnie takes every precaution to ensure that Halo 3 is fresh and holds our attention as well as Halo:CE and Halo 2. Hopefully more so...( - :

He wasn't praising Halo so much; he was just saying that for Halo 3, you should feel the same way as you played CE's campaign. That's what I feel as well, as Halo 2's single-player wasn't as satisfying as Halo CE's.

as far as campaigns go halo CE was better than halo 2 in CE you were always buissy eiyther getting somewhere in a certain time limit or engaged in skirmish after skirmish where the pacing was fast enoungh to keep the adrenaline pumping but spaced out enough not to just be a straight run and gun game with the trigger held down. also you had just enough time between fights to recharge before your next one. Not only that but when you were running it felt like you were running not slowly strolling along ducking behind the rubble strewn lvls. Halo 2 was great for the multiplayer even though the auto aim is a touch high but thats supposed to compensate for latency(even though it just makes it even worse for the people with any latency). Also while halo CE was great for multiplayer there came a time when noone picked up weapons anymore, it all became the pistol, now halo 2 is pretty much the same thing except its the combo or sniper/sword. if you tone down a bit of autoaim, set up servers so you don't have people getting handicapped just because they live a few thousand miles further away(also this would really help towards stopping cheating) and sped up the run just a bit so it feels like you are running but turned the pace on the campaign so you didn't have minutes of walking followed by a short fight only to walk a few more minutes to where the next fight is sceduled to happen.

July 15, 2008... The day the timer stood still.

I am sure a lot of people here have been posting their theories and telling each other what they want in the game. Well i want to make a simple statement that i am sure will make the campaign amazing.

Make it like Halo CE.

The campaign was simply 30 seconds of fun, over and over and over again. It was, and is to this day the best campaign i have ever played, it's uncomplicated, it's action and it's fun. Thats all we want to see. Sure graphical improvements and better AI are good, but i think Bungie hit the nail on the head with halo. They had the perfect formula. Halo 2 had it's fun points, but some of the levels were lacking something, i think what made the halo campaign so good was the sheer Vastness of it. AOTCR, two betrayals, the library, The Maw. It was a great combination of Forerunner, ring world and covenant/human settings. In halo 2 we found everything was VERY covenant or VERY Human, and we missed the battles we used to see in Halo.

Well, to my point. If Bungie can capture that feeling of power and thrill you get when playing Halo. And improve the multiplayer in any ways they can. Halo 3 will simply be the only game you will need.

Thanks for reading.

They need to impliment both the games together. In Halo 2 it almost felt like you were always attacking, but yes it was lacking that fun. In Halo CE it seemed like you defend more. Seemed like more enemaines, plus they need to actually have missions(new ones) and warthog needs to go back to its old self where it was loose and could bounce of each other.

halo1 was in my opinion better than halo2 but halo2 was still one of the best games i have ever played and halo3 should be like halo1 in alot of ways and should be like halo2 in alot of ways. halo 3 should have more levels on earth because on halo2 i was disappointed on how little it was played on earth

  • 06.03.2006 7:11 PM PDT

Down, down to hell and say that I sent you there...

I came into the world with my legs forward and a woman cried "he was born with teeth!"

"I had no father I am like my father...I had no brother I am like my brother...And this word, "love" which old farts call divine be resident in men like you -blam!-. But not in me, I am my mother-blam!- self, alone."

You Are an Idiot

Halo: CE was thirty seconds of fun over and over because you went through the same area 30 seconds later, only backward. The thing I loved about Halo 2 over Halo: CE was the fact you didn't backtrack every other damn mission like in Halo: CE. There were new envrionments all the time. And I hope Halo 3 expands on that and adds more depth to the single player.

But saying Halo 3 should be like Halo: CE is retarded. If you want Halo: CE, go play Halo: CE. Halo 3 should be it's own game. There was nothing wrong with Halo 2. It took the best parts of Halo: CE and mixed them in with some new and innovative stuff and the game was much better for it.

Remeber the Halo 2 video at E3 Along time ago, the only everyone freaked out about. That I have a feeling how Halo 3 will be like. The covies were attacking. The marines sounded so cool. "3 more coming left man" "Gak gak gak" Forgot his name but "Mendizo" "What" "Is it clear?" boom "You tell me" "Lay out covering fire" Halo 2 wasnt like that because the covies werent really winning or attacking. Plus the city didnt look like that with lighting and brutes jumping on your warthog. Watching that video you felt something. Playing the game it lacked.
And when the marine in Halo 2 said "when I asked for reinforcements didnt think they send a spartan" in that video he said it like he was hurt. in the game he said it so dumb. Or the Marines they would talk to you. "Throwing flash" they need to bring back what was in that video into the game.

Come on you cant tell me you didnt say that fin ruled in that e3 video. but now sense Halo 3 is coming and covies are attacking it will be like that.

my friend....i completely agree with you, and for those of you who say there was absolutely nothing wrong with halo 2 you need to wake up, bungie was rushed into release of the game on multiple occasions(therefore they were bound to make a mistake somewhere) which is the reason the campaign was slightly lacking and linear. so it isnt all inherently their fault, im sure the levels would have been ten times as fun with ten times the replay value than they ended up having, had they not been rushed by microsoft and had more time to do it their way

No. Now shut up and go away. Why do people want the exact same game? If you vant CE go -blam!- play CE.

I agree with the point........just not the way it was conveyed..............

I rather see Halo 3.........not a CE remake............not a H2 remake........just Halo 3...........

I'm sure it will be awesome in it's own right................

Halo 2 had a great campaign, but it was only great. It wasn't groundbreaking, it wasn't amazing, and it didnt have great replay value. The Halo: CE campaign was amazing. Some of the battles in there, such as taking the beach on the Silent Cartographer, fighting through waves of covies in AOTC, the Pillar of Autumn. The levels were damn near perfect. So, I think it would be a great thing if Halo 3 more closely reflected Halo CE rather than Halo 2. Note the reflected. It should not be exactly like it, but have a much more similar feel to Halo CE than to Halo 2.

Ok, what is with the random flaming of me here? All i have said is that the campaign should have the feel of what halo has.

And to the many who pointed it out, I did quote the guy off the DVD. You think i will deny that or something? I quoted him because he got it right when he said that, thats exactly what i felt, and feel to this day when playing halo.

the kid who started this is right as is 10000 fists, the campaign should be like CE and the multiplayer should be like Halo 2

Ok, apart from the fact im not a kid, thank you.

well you admit it, but before you did it kinda sounded like you came up with it yourself, anyway

Don't you think they tried to capture that CE feeling in Halo 2? They weren't like "Heeey guys, let's make the Halo 2 singleplayer feeling different from Halo CE. I bet they try to capture that feeling, not reproduce the campaign. Maybe that's what you said from the beginnning.

But I agree with so many other here, Halo 3 should be Halo 3, not anything other, so bungie, Suprise ous
