Are we doing it so that it's 4v4? Oh and I can get a few more people if you want o-o.

I think we only need 1 more, assuming that everyon on the list responds with their GT. If not, I'm sure we can grab a few more.

First thought is that timing is going to be the hardest part.

Maybe if people posted when they (and their team) will be available in the coming week, other teams can reply to that asap in order to get something organised a while in advance.

Things can change last minute though, eg going to the pub, so maybe another board where people say they're going to be on for an hour or for the evening, and then teams reply to that?

Good idea. Once we have the teams assigned, I'll just make a schedule for that week's game on Monday. If both teams are ready, great! If they can't make it, I'll just find out when they're free and reschedule. The second board for additional times is a great idea. We can just make a board for each team. We can also keep a running score thread throughout the season. Soon this will be the main post on the H3 forums!

Okay, stay with me on this. I just thought of something I haven't seen before.

If the games were played in Forge (changing the player options in the lobby to MLG settings) a couple of observers could fly around in monitor mode commentating on the game for comedic effect. They could be given good camo so they weren't a nuisance to the players. When the game starts, the party leader just switches gamemode to whichever type, then when the next round starts, the game begins properly. Obviously not every game would need to be played in forge, but it might be a cool idea.

The only problems would be:
* having to change player properties before the game (increase damage/move speed etc)
* higher ping with more players
* players accidentally hitting the d-pad (this can be stopped, but if so would limit the "cameras/commentators" to one)
* party leader would have to change the gamemode at the start of each game.
* the extra players would affect spawns
* wouldn't work in flag or the camera would have to be on one of the teams.

I was thinking a sort of semi serious, mostly funny commentary style, sort of like what "lifes a glitch tv" does for starcraft 2.

edit ...yeah that's probably not a good idea

It's fine if we add people in blocks of full teams. I just don't want to constantly be waiting for 1 more player to make things even, only to have 3 sign up and be stuck again. If they want to sign up though, I think that's fine.

I got you on the list. We're definitely using MLG settings. I posted the gametypes and maps on the OP.

Hang on, let me figure out the number of players. Looks like we may have a few people who don't post their GT, so I can remove them and add in someone else. I've got you on the list though.

It would definitely add comedic effect. The issues you listed would be a pain, though. The higher ping in particular. It would be cool, for sure, but I think it's probably easier to just run it in customs. What I'm going to do is just put all the modes and maps in my Fileshare and whatever team is playing can just download the official modes for our season from there. Then, whatever teams played should save the films from each of their games and have one player post them on his Fileshare, so anyone can view them.

Okay, here's what I'm going to do with players for season 1. I'll give the people who haven't signed in their GT yet 1 more day. If they still haven't, you guys can grab friends who want to play and I'll remove the old players who haven't signed up. Everyone who has their GT next to their name is safe. Right now I have 15 people officially ready, waiting on 5. So all of you who have friends who want to join can post their GTs tomorrow. However, this is still what I want to figure out: Should we just assign the teams the way Colossal Dave suggested? I think that's the best idea so far. Otherwise, I could just grab a team of all 5 stars who do nothing but play Halo all day and have 400000 EXP. I'm sure everyone else could too. Probably the only way to keep it fair is by putting more skilled players with less skilled ones. On the next thread, I'll post links to the callouts for MLG maps. I think that it should be a requirement to know those, at least. How does everyone feel about this system? Above all, I want everyone to enjoy this, so if you don't like it, say something!

Taking weapons. I think we should test the weapons and see how long they take to kill on MLG. I understand if people don't want them in, but I just like my H3 sandbox. Obviously we wouldn't have to put them on every map. Just where it makes sense and doesn't break the map.

Non-MLG weapons to give a shot (in order of my opinion):
1. SMG
2. Beam Rifle
3. Brute Shot
4. AR
5. Magnum

The canadian profession league had one clip ARs. Everything from clip size, spawn rate, to map location would obviously have to be thought out if we include anything different. Again, it's fine if people are against it. Those are just weapons that I find fun to use.

I honestly can't tell if you're serious. All of those weapons are horrible LOL...

edit: @above- order best w/ worst, second best w/ second worst etc

If people/teams join late they can still play if it is a league format, they'll just be at a disadvantage.

My team would consist of: Me (50), Sharku (50), Colossal Chaz (46), Colossal Rich (45), Colossal Rachel (37 but a legit 12), Colossal Kraken (25), and Hellarious (7). I'd just invite whoever was on at the time.

We are a fairly random spread already so I don't think it would be too unfair if we played teams made from the sign-up list.

I'm completely down with playing, and my team would consist of myself and three 5 stars with a billion exp, so that is understandably not fair. I'm completely okay with random teams or whatever; my gamertag is Rxfle.
