I'm indifferent to it, but can see that it is both a source of amusement and dismay to many people.
Wish I could say the same, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't lean a little bit more towards keeping them than having them removed. Then again, I've never really looked at titles as a sort of hierarchy (not that everyone will follow by my example) but more as a symbol of long-time activity, and good behavior on this site. Something I should be proud of, I guess.

I would like to see a visible "opt out" where a member checks a box in their settings, their title changes to something not in the hierarchy (maybe something like "Mature Member") that indicates to other members that they don't show a title and they don't SEE anyone else's title either.
That way, those who don't want to partake are able to demonstrate that they not only don't care about your title, they don't care about theirs either.
I can't say that's a terrible idea, although something like "Mature Member" sounds insulting to those who don't use the option, or at least to those on the other side of the debate. /nitpicking

I'd like for them to stay, but to also mean more. Give people something to strive for instead of just a higher title. Have each title level unlock or allow members of that title to be able to do something. If some kind of incentive were introduced, I'd think more people would be on board with it.
I don't know, I see it as possibly creating even more of a hierarchy than the one that supposedly goes around on this site. Not to mention I'd hate to think my bungie.net options were limited simply because I didn't join the site 4 years ago.
