Halo: Reach is a lot more balanced. Everything about the game is to get players on more even ground so no one will have a significant advantage over another player. Bloom for example is obviously meant for balance.

Oh my.

He's right though. He means balance in the sense that now bad players have an edge against good players because of blooms randomness.

He wasn't saying it was good balance, but bad balance.

Mmm, I guess, although I have a hard time envisioning balance as good or bad. I always imagined it to represent neutrality, not favouring anyone.

Oh well. It would be nice to get balance without punishing skilled players.

Whether having a well balanced game is a good or bad thing doesn't really matter. Halo multiplayer was never meant to be as balanced as Halo: Reach was.

In fact, Halo multiplayer was meant to be fun. If that means one player can dominate the whole map by camping with power weapons, then that's perfectly fine.

Halo: Reach takes all the fun out of Halo. Another example of limiting players is the Active Camo which not only jams your own motion tracker, but also is very ineffective while moving.

What the Halo series needs now, is to go back to its roots during the days of Halo 1,2,3. Players need to be reminded of what Halo was like and what made Halo so great today.

Does anyone honestly believe that if Halo: Reach was the first Halo game back in 2001, the Halo series would've become as successful as it is today. The only reason Reach did fine sales-wise is because it piggy backed on the success of the past three Halo games. And it's multiplayer success barely lasted a week compared to the older games.

At least Reach's population has challenge.

Where?

Maybe he means they are mentally challenged, lol.

Fair enough lol.

He who cannot command himself should obey. And many can command themselves, but much is still lacking before they can obey themselves.

Compare your Reach stats with your Halo 3 stats. What do you notice? I bet my rent your Reach stats look much better than your Halo 3 stats. Conclusion: Halo 3 took much more skill than Reach. Only a few could excel at Halo 3, while an average player can excel in Reach.

You are correct. How often do you see a four star General, or any General in Halo 3 (Global Rank)? Now think how often you see really high ranking people in Halo: Reach? You definitely see high ranks in Halo: Reach a lot more often than in Halo 3. In Halo: Reach, to rank up, you just need to spend a lot of time playing regardless of your skill since you're awarded XP no matter the result of the match.

Halo 3's ranking system is skill based.
Halo: Reach's ranking system is time based.

global warming isn't proven and won't be - it's more of a political play for funding for "research"

Some of the stuff OP posted sort of made sense. Not a lot though.

Those points really don't prove anything, more opinion than anything.

H3 > Reach in my mind, but I still enjoy the game and feel I am fairly good at it.

I feel quite similarly to this post, however I do see what you mean about team shooting being such an important aspect of the game now, OP. Although this seems like a good thing (and when playing with friends it really is!), it can make things even worse than in halo 3 if you're playing alone with randoms against a properly organised team, which does not appeal to the COD-era gamer. I think this was part of the reason why quite a few casuals moved away from Reach quite quickly.

The reason why people hate Reach is either because

1. They suck at the game, since it puts all players on common ground and eliminates the "skill" required to get kills by adding bloom. Like it or not, the game is harder, since good players don't get rewarded for having skill

or

2. The game was a HUGE, HUGE freaking promise for the franchise, but it failed miserably and made the Halo community die out in less than 2 years. If Halo 4 fails, oh boy.

Reach wasn't easier than Halo 3. Reach relied waaay too much in team shooting, which killed the fun 1v1s in plenty of games, which also contributed to boost Call of Duty's and Battlefield's popularity, since those games do reward good players both in 1v1 encounters and team shooting (suppressing or whatever)

My point, Halo 3 was easier than Reach. Deal with it.

Well that makes sense, you obviously sucked at halo 3 lol.
