I resent that...

I have a sitting desk.

You jelly?

Not when mine is outfitted with hydraulics.
Bam! Best of both worlds.

You should start a TV show called Pimp My Desk.

Well both of you are gonna want my desk. Its a standing and sitting desk equipped with a smoothie machine, a pencil holder, hydraulics, and a hidden alarm. Anyways enough with random stuff. Achronos is pretty much a webmaster. He denies it but he can't hide behind that gorilla mask, jetpack and cowboy hat. He monitors the site, supervises the webteam, makes updates to the site, fixes bugs and much more.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

But Bungie.net is not "traditional". We don't follow the crowd, the goal is that we set the bar for everyone else. Expect that to continue post-Halo.

Hurray!

Actually, I don't think running the community was ever in his actual job description. I think he just did it because someone had to; so why not him?

So, to answer your question: no. I don't think running the site was ever his job, completely negating the validity of your question. He just did it out of the goodness of his heart (or because he was power hungry according to a bunch of banned people whining at me in PMs).

Also, kudos to whomever posted the compiling quip. Its 100% spot on in this case.

You're making it seem like I'm asking an employee why they're employed. I think it's pretty safe to assume that my question involved both engineering this site, and being the spiritual leader.

I meant no derision. I was just a lot more blunt than I needed to be. You're of course free to ask that question, especially as it pertains to the site. Those of us who spend time here want to of course know more about it. There's nothing wrong with asking the question. My overly logical reply was just me being blunt and lacking empathy. So, I'm sorry I came off so harsh. I just suck at communicating sometimes.

Though my point remains, your question is inherently flawed due to the way it was phrased. His "ruling" the site was an unintended consequence (if my assertion is correct, which it might not be). As you know, he's a server engineer, and he seems to do a little bit of everything on the site. Running the community was just an aside.

I'm not offended, dude, I just thought you took my question the wrong way.

And while I understand that he is a server engineer, he does seem to be the lead engineer of the website; it would explain why his title is Overlord. That being said, I think it would only be assumed that he would be considered the "ruler" of the site, even while he may not be that of Bungie.

He's the figure head. Like the guy who represents the web team, but doesn't really do much productive.

Yes Costco. I need a 50lb bag...I mean sack of sugar.

Well, whatever his job entails, he does this pretty well, so kudos. Being the overlord of this lot seems like it would be a full time job.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I think he voiced 'Yelling marine #4'.
Also maybe 'Dying Grunt #3'.
