What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

You have to beat the Campaign in Legendary using only melees and beat it 5 times in a row, and you can't revert to last checkpoint or die once. Then Cortana pops up on the main menu and presents to you a different colored banshee. Then you must beat Campaign in Legendary using melees ten times in a row. Then you get another colored banshee. Then you must beat Campaign in Legendary again using melees 15 times in a row, and you'll get a different colored banshee, and you keep doing it until you get the Golden Banshee.

Each different colored banshee is more powerful than the last, and each have their own traits. The blue banshee, for example, fires huge beams of blue that freeze opponents for twenty seconds before they can move again. The golden banshee fires incredibly powerful golden sentinel beams, the red banshee drops napalm, etc.

So, whenever you start playing a level, the game lets you choose what banshee you want to appear in the level, let's say in Two Betrayals, a menu will pop up asking you which banshee you want to fly from the amount of banshees you have unlocked.

Nice try to feed the beginners bs. That sounds like the biggest pile of crap i've ever heard.

I say, the forum could really use [sarcasm][/sarcasm] tags.
I have to agree, along with some [spam][/spam] tags as well, or some [bs][/bs] tags.

Don't believe everything you hear is right. For example: "Hey, my father worked for Bungie, and you know that gun that can zoom in and shoot people in the head? He put that in just for me."

And dude, it's supposed to be intentional, lol. I'm just messing around with them. :)

You're right, ConMan577. That's the easy way to get it. For teh leetness haxors, (like myself) we do it this way.

Here's the relevent letter:

I followed all the advice from these freaks and I still have no Yellow Banshee. Please show me or tell me in true real SIMPLE directions on where to find all the different colored Banshees.

Jon Foster

Since there's been so much confusion over so many years over this point, I may as well come clean. Yes, there is a yellow banshee. There is also a green banshee and a red banshee, available at different parts of the game (but no others).

To find the Yellow Banshee:
Go the place where the chapter Rolling Thunder begins, on level 5.
Go into the middle valley, between the "speedbumps".
Drive the tank so that it is facing against the left wall and exactly in the middle of the valley. There should be a small space under the tank as it balances.
Crouch down and crawl under the tank. You must have the rocket launcher equipped while you do this, or you won't be able to fit.
Go right up the wall and locate the tiny switch. It's very small, so you'll have to get as close as possible. It might not even be visible, but, trust me, it's there.
Make sure the tiny switch is right in the center of your screen (if you can't see the switch, just look directly at the wall), then pull the right trigger (if you're using the default config).
Go through the door to the army surplus store. The rest of the explanation can be found here

To find the Green Banshee:
Go to level 8, and defeat the Sentinels using only the shotgun.
Once the title of the chapter appears and Cortana starts talking, run to the large door at the end. You must get there before she finishes.
Jump off the path at the opposite side from the door switch.
After the cutscene, follow the gnome through the pink labyrinth. You have to keep exactly on his trail; if you fall behind, use the stereo effect of his singing to figure out which direction he went.
The answer to the Elite's question is "The fourth llama". After you enter that in the virtual keyboard, he will let you into the Green Banshee room, which has a large door that returns you to the main part of the level.

To find the Red Banshee:
Go to level 4. Run through the level until you have activated the Cartographer and are ready to return to the surface.
In the room after the first ramp upstairs, the room where it is possible to stand on a ledge and look out over the Shaft, there is a glowing blue panel up some ramps at the back. Locate this panel and stand directly in front of it.
Now, you have to press the special button (in the real world) to activate the teleporter. This button isn't on the controller, it's on the front of the Xbox itself, and it looks like a silver circle with a semicircle inscribed within it, and inside that is a small vertical line.
After pressing the button, you are immediately teleported to a very dark room, and the Chief's helmet is confiscated so you can't even see the HUD. Walk forwards until you bump into the wall; the controller will rumble to indicate this. (The dark room is extremely large, so it may take a while).
Once you hit the wall, turn left and keep going. Eventually, the Guardians will turn the light back on and give you back your helmet, and the Red Banshee will be right there in front of you.
Sometimes these procedures can be tricky; you might have to try several times before earning a colored banshee. Good luck!

Oh ye of little faith.

Yes, there is an extra .map in the map folder of Halo [don't have it currently installed, but look for it among the multiplayer maps]. It isn't playable, though, so you can use your imagination as to what lies in its code.

Yes the extra one is conveniently titled "sound.map", no one knows what may lie within it's code, but you could be the first to find out xD

As for finding the Red Banshee

To find the Red Banshee:

1. Go to level 4. Run through the level until you have activated the Cartographer and are ready to return to the surface.
2. In the room after the first ramp upstairs, the room where it is possible to stand on a ledge and look out over the Shaft, there is a glowing blue panel up some ramps at the back. Locate this panel and stand directly in front of it.
3. Now, you have to press the special button (in the real world) to activate the teleporter. This button isn't on the controller, it's on the front of the Xbox itself, and it looks like a silver circle with a semicircle inscribed within it, and inside that is a small vertical line.

5. Once you hit the wall, turn left and keep going. Eventually, the Guardians will turn the light back on and give you back your helmet, and the Red Banshee will be right there in front of you.

If I had an X-Box I'd try it ;)

Ea ster Egg from Xbox Version of Halo

Click it then scrool down, its not for pc, but for Xbox Halo.

That's incorrect. Most of these easter eggs work the same as on HPC. Halo and HPC are virtually identical, so most of these eggs can be found on HPC as well. For example, I've seen the "Hippo" easter egg where you can see hippos on shotgun shells on Halo PC, along with the "Multiplayer Edit Game Types Screen", the Scorpion birthdate number, and most of these other glitches as well. I especially liked the "Siege of Madrigal" Easter Egg.

My bad, I meant to say "Easter Egg" but I put down glitch because I was thinking about double-melees and sweep sniping in Combat Evolved.

wow...someone else wanna handle this? Think about it "sounds"...hmm...i wonder what would be contained in that folder.

EXTRA CREDIT!!! Figure out what's stored in bitmaps.map!!

And no, there is no "secret level", but there are these things that are called "mods", which many people use and make, me included. Then again, maybe you should just stay away from them.

Just to tell you people there is actually a Yellow Banshee. When you play Halo 2 on Xbox on the fourth level called the Arbiter you eventually get in a Banshee and fly around and give the Phantom cover well that Banshee has a Yellow coloring on it because it is not of the Covenant Banshee but of the other guy that you kill on the fifth level called Oracle. The difference is that the Banshee that you drive on the fourth and fifth level has a Yellow coloring on it while if you fly a Covenant owned Banshee it is just purple.

If you do manage to melee them all, you get to see Cortana presenting you the golden banshee, but in the nude, along with Miranda Keyes, in only a bikini and small underwear.

PM me a link to those screenies...

Btw - I've beaten HPC in under 3 hours before. Nothing happens. And... what is sweep sniping and double-melee?
