When I joined the core we didn't have any fancy shmancy tanks. We had sticks, two sticks and a rock for a whole platoon. And we had to share the rock. Buck up boy. You're one vary lucky marine.

I really enjoy listening to halo music even if i go for months without playing the game. The music causes me to relive gameplay experiences and replay the story of halo as I listen. So as I played Halo over the years, I worked on a music playlist which follows the cumulative story of halo. Halo:CE was the only album I really had to organize and cut clips for an accurate representation. The other soundtracks were thankfully in order. I also found a source that ordered the halo 2 soundtrack by level. I now have a playlist with 113 songs that covers all games(except HWars) from halo:CE to the end of Halo 3 and possibly the start of Halo 4. Has anyone started a project like this?

General Knoxx

Aside from trying to get everything Halo Canon in a list which you can see in another thread I just started, no. But when you're done you should show us, or more specifically me hehe.

Shameless plug for my blog:

Check it!

If you could offer up a download link once the project is finished, I would love it! We can do it offsite if Bungie isn't happy with it on the forums, but I am very interested.

I would rather not take this to my grave. I can provide some downloads, but I need to finish classes before i start to explore. Maybe a torrent? or PirateBay? Right now I can just layout the playlist.

To say the project is completed depends upon your standards. I started by just putting tracks in a relative order. Then I just cut clips to make transitions, represent significant scenes, and remove redundancies.

Halo CE and Halo 2 needed the most work. The other soundtracks were really well edited when released(Thanks to Marty and Mike)so if I make a download I will just add the edited clips.

So this is what I call "John's Story":

Halo Reach Soundtrack ("Winter Contingency" to "Pillar of Autumn")
Survivors of Reach (Halo opening)
Freezer Burn (Cryo Thawing)
Suite Autumn*
Keys Entry (Autumn entering ring)
Crash Landing
Halo Leaving the Tunnel
The Gun Pointed at the Head of the Universe*
Under Cover of Night*
A Walk in the Woods*
Hunters
Entering Truth
Covenant Dance*
Alien Corridors*
Silent Cartographer (Opening)
Perchance to Dream*
Rock Anthem for saving the World*
On a Pale Horse*
Perilous Journey*
The Long Run*
What Once Was Lost*
Lament for PVT. Jenkins*
Devils... Monsters...*
Library Suite*
Trace Amounts*
Fragments**
Marathon Sprint**
First Step**
Rock in a Hard Place**
Choreographite**
Pale Rider**
Cloaked in Blackness**
The Maw*
Suite Fall**
Unless You Mean to Shoot**
Drumrun*
Dust and Echoes*
///////Halo 2//////////
The Heretic
Cairo Station
Outskirts
Metropolis
//////Halo 3: ODST/////
Dropping into Mombasa
ODST Soundtrack ("More Than his Share" to "Special Delivery")
//////back to Halo 2///////////
The Arbiter
The Oracle
Delta Halo
Impend*
Mausoleum Suite*
Sacred Icon
Ancient Machine*
Reclaimer*
Heretic, Hero*
Gravemind
Uprising
High Charity
The Great Journey
/////////Halo 3///////////
Halo 3 soundtrack ("Arrival. Luck" to "Ending Legend")
/////////Halo 4//////////
Entering Reclaimer Planet
Unforeseen Encounter
A Beat and a Flute (These 3 are not authored)
Call of Drums
Venture over the Mountain

*=unedited (taken from soundtracks/not included in download)
**=Tracks taken from Halo CE Anniversary. I do this because the Halo CE story follows a path to the library and the backtracks that path with redundant music. I wanted to represent this with altered tracks.

If you want the edited tracks I have a free week starting May 20th so I will update here and start uploading. [Torrent or other download host?] Even if you don't want to make the playlist, the Halo 2 edited tracks(Not made by me) are well done because they are organized by level similar to Reach soundtrack.
