Subject: The next step in Bungie.net's evolution: flash games

Questions lead to learning, learning leads to kowledge, knowledge leads to understanding, understanding leads to peace.

"I would kill to get a killionaire... 10 times... digitally."

I'd like to see their next game as a pc game (even though we all know it will be on the ps3), with direct links to and from bungie.net, so they could truly combine their game and communtiy seamlessly. Think about it, talking with your buddies, click a button, playing a game with your buddies. Playing a game with your buddies, click a button, surfing the forums with your buddies. Depending on the type of game their doing, they're doing, this could be the perfect way to implement a clan system.

So long as it's not a flash game.

Flash games are lame. Why not batman games?

I am for this.

Maybe a mini-Community forum to discuss it.
Then leaderboards and such. That would be pretty cool.

Flash games? Ew, no thanks.

Any reason you don't like flash games? They are fun to pass the time.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

The katamari URL code injector trick thingy has certainly kept me busy here.

Being the ever sadistic individual I pride myself on, well, being; how about we implement a non user controlled katamari game that accompanies every ban. Essentially, you get banned and a giant ball starts erasing all of the text on b.net (yes I realize just how unfeasible this is. How about you just picture it for a second and try smiling?). We could implement something for good behavior too, I guess, but that's much less fun.

Tl;dr - make these games tied to and accessed by certain user behavior.

This is probably going to be a double post, but iPhone lack of ease trumps ettiquite in this scenario.

This type of system is used in the bf3 games and I absolutely despise every aspect of it. Having to run a version of the game in addition to a poorly conceived love child of an Xbox live friends list, a web browser, and a social networking site IN ADDITION TO origin makes for a laughably large amount of RAM usage for a game. Making the option available whether ir not to persure this level of integration is great. Forcing it upon the players (I.e. not using a modicum of critical thinking skills and recognizing the origin design as largely obtrusive and a needless drain on resources) is not.

No need to go on a tyrade. I just thought it would be cool if BUNGIE found a way to integrate the comunity into their next game. It was adding on to the idea of flash games presented by OP.

If it's a quality game I wouldn't mind at all.

  • 05.02.2012 12:32 PM PDT

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Gnop could work as a flash game I suppose. It is really just Pong with the Bungie Logo on it and some other added features.

There was that warthog game on the Halo 3 disk but with no rights to Halo that is a no go.

PID couldn't work as a flash Game either.

I do think Flash games would be a fun little addition to Bungie.net but the time spent and resources to make them may not mean we will see any soon.

What self-respecting game developer would ever think of putting flash games as a prime feature of their website?

Proposal:
I understand that the Bungie Community (us), love video games. I also understand that there are members of the community who are currently taking classes in flash animation and game development and design. Wouldn't it be possible to make this a community collaboration (provided we get the proper licensing and all that jazz)?

Thoughts?
Meh, I guess it was a dumb idea...

I doubt this would be a "prime feature". Flash games would not be the focal point of Bungie.net.

If this is the state of my art, then I secede.

The best victories are the ones the other side didn't expect.

Yes Costco. I need a 50lb bag...I mean sack of sugar.

As long as the games didn't take away from the rest of the site, I'm down for it.
