The guy that said you dont have to lead has obviously only been against stationary targets.

As for differences in lag, you must have done something different since you played halo before. Its possible you got a virus, maybe you changed ISP, maybe your line has started getting packet loss (this doesnt usually affect ping). Or maybe you are sharing your connection with someone else in your home? Or somewhere else (seriously, unsecured wireless networks are a bad idea).

Check your PC, check your pings, and check whos using your connection. Other than that, I have no explanation, other than maybe between the times you forgot how bad the lag was!

When you first respawn, throw a grenade. The time you have to wait for it to actually appear and fly out is approximately how far ahead you should lead. If it takes half a second for it to be thrown, you should shoot at where your enemy will be half a second later. It is really hard to master, since each weapon is a little different, but with practice you can shoot out hog drivers or grenade banshees pretty well.

I don't know why, but it seems that very few people understand leading, as I can just run back and forth and never be hit, while I snipe down the enemy team.
