Hi there. I have read tons of speculations recently. However, i havent found some that i find to be truly revealing (at least for me)

Please dont go psycho on me... just a few ideas from a noob.

1) In the First Cortana Letter (http://marathon.bungie.org/story/cortana.html)

there is a reference to the Poet Eliot. Now, the pronuntiation of "Eliot" is almost the same as Eliah. It would make more sense if we talk about him.
I know many people here dont like biblical comparisons, but this one was too much for me to resist.

2) In the trailer, the first Cortana phrase is: "I HAVE DEFYED GODS AND DEMONS"

There is no doubt to me that this is the Gravemind speaking. From a Covenant point of view, the gods are the Forerunners, and the demons are the humans.

This one may actually add something to the theory of humankind related (descendants???) to the Forerunners....

I'll have you know
that I've become
Indestructible!

They're talking about the poem by TS Elliot, who says the world will not end with a bang, "but a whimper". Cortana, in her letter, states otherwise. I thought Elijah at first, but I found that if I went down that path I'd be smashing puzzle pieces.

If the humans are anyone in the Bible, I would sooner call them Levites before I call them demons.

THE COVENANT CALL MASTER CHIEF THE DEMON

And the Pharisees called Jesus the prince of demons.
Name calling isn't entirely accurate, methinks.
