I came into the whole Halo thing late, so i kinda knew about them already. My reaction was more along the lines of "Oh. So that's what they look like. Huh." Followed by much shotgunning.

Oh yeah man. I came into Halo late. Almost the same month when Halo 2 came out. I dont know. At first I was like wow that whole recorded video thing was cool. Except that when I actually saw the flood I was like what?! What is this?! Still it was pretty fun. I guess if the game actually showed that the flood were like a parasite, like they do it Halo 2 I would have been more scared or at least paid more attention to it like it was a big thing. Still I love the flood and everything halo.

at first whenever one landed in front of me I jumped about two feet in the air... I played 343 GS for the first time at midnight when nobody else was awake so it was pretty freaky

When I first saw the flood, I didn't question it... They attacked me, so I killed them... there was no emotion too it, just a reaction... but after spending the next three hours frantically spraying bullets into countless targets, I slowly started to hate the flood...

In Halo... they where just anoying... in Halo 2... well, they scare the -blam!- out of me.... (at first)

They attack me, I kill them... more come, trick me... look like they want to eat me, then dissapear... Then they swarm... twice what you saw, from all angles... hit and run, hit and run... for the swarm....

When I was put on that elevator and made to fight the flood... I was tweeking bat... I was freaking out, twitching this way and that... if I was really in the game, I would have been screaming like hell the whole time I stood atop that platform, afrade I would be swept away by the flood.

Then, when I had fought Sentinals, and Giant sentinals, and a few little flood on the side, and find myself at the end of a hall with 70 flood standing between me and the exit, I turned off my Xbox for two whole days before I could sit myself down and do it.... (when I found the worthog, I paniced and ran for my life with the skill of a NASCAR/Strunt driver....)

And when it was finally the MCs turn to fight the flood, I turned off my Xbox for another day... Plain and simple, the Halo 2 flood scared the -blam!- out of me... now, its not so bad, but still creepy!

My first thought was: Mummy! But it was half one in the morning and i had just watched the enitre 'Aliens quadrology?'. I later thought 'What the hell are these!' In the end i got bored and annoyed with them and when i killed one with the least amount of damage i would take a look at the bodies to see what they looked like. I still thought they were freaky though

well, i hate 2 admit it, but kinda used an online walkthrough. I didnt NEED it, but i just wanted to know wut was comin up next. i read that the flood was hard 2 defeat and they kinda looked like zombies. then i played the level and i saw the infection forms and how easy they were and thought, "i dont need no shteenkin walkthrough". then i went upstairs and ended up running from everything i saw!

When I played back the tape from PVT Jenkins helmet and I saw how those little things killed SGT Johnson I was expecting a fight. So when I went into the room and they poured through the doors, I pulled out the assault rifle and started shooting and I was always asking myself why they were so easy. After the first 3 doors or so opened I paused and got onto AIM and asked a friend who beat the game what he thought of them and he said "Oh god they are hard" I responded with something like "What the -BLAM- are you talking about" and he said "How far are you" I told him and he said "Just play for about 10 minutes and come back then tell me what you think" so I played shot things killed things met the combat forms died came back and told him "OMG not only are they never ending but I have to get through the maze of a place" and he said "LOL".

It was a dark and stormy night, and me and my sis decided to co-op through GS. We get to the cutscene and we're laughing as the poor marines get slaughtered by the "midgets" as my sis calls them. Then we realize, hey we're in the same room that they were raped in. Then the freaky banging of the doors starts, and the midgets come flowing through. At around this time, i was partially freaked out, seeing as though there were so many of them and we had so little AR ammo left. Everything was going good until the flood elites came in, at which point my sis proceeded to sticky grenade a flying flood. It was funny until it exploded.

When I first played through Halo 1, I didn't see the cutscene when the Marines were getting attacked... I dropped my controller when it started playing. A button must have been pressed, because it stopped playing. So there I was in a room with a bloody floor. Then I heard the freaky noises they make. What's even worse is that I was playing at about 12:30am, alone (I've noticed that almost everybody first experienced the Flood at night. That's weird...). The little infection forms didn't scare me, but something hit me and when I turned around it was the combat form. Son of a ---!!! Man that was scary. I think the freakiest level, however is the Library, while playing by yourself in the dark.

me and my brother where playing co-op (he was playing the level for the first time) on 343 guilty spark. He was getting increasingly freaked out as he watched the cut scenes. Then, when you first meet the flood I told him to go into the room where the flood come out of in the cut scene. The first flood bust through one of the doors but he couldn't see this as he was in the other room. He couln't see me as I was with the flood. I start going crazy, shooting my assault rifle all over the place and chucking grenades (taking care not to actually hit the flood). He is too scared to leave the room and all he can hear is my rifle going off and the explosions. Finally I chuck a grenade at myself and it takes my shields down. Before they recharge, I run to the room where he is hiding and stand at the doorway. As i have no shields, like 5 flood jump onto me and burrow into me and I die.

I swear he almost pissed himself.

"Holy #%$, shoot them!" Would be my first response. I was playing while my brothers were watching. Once one of the things came onto the screen all three of us started screaming. I shot like crazy and only killed maybe two of them. (I had an assault riffle)
They were scary at first but eventually we came to know them as dummer convenent. Shot guns rule!
