Hey guys. I'm new here, and couldnt resist this topic.
I arrived in the level 343 GS, right after you were dropped off (I forgot what that womans name was who piloted that Pelican). She took off and it was all dark and eery. I started off, and at some point in time met some pretty scared Covenant Grunts and Jackals. Afterwhich, I came across a wrecked Pelican. Radio chatter was going on from the smashed radio. All I heard from the garbled chatter was "Captain Keyes has been captured". I kept moving on and off in the forest in the distance, I saw some rapid movement running in the direction I was heading. My first thought was "that was strange".
Shooting ahead, once I was inside, all I found was remains of Covenant, and blood every where. I kept seeing blips on my radar of fellow Marines. I trudged ahead thinking I should find some Marines soon. I did alright, that one crazed Marine. I blew his brains out, and kept going, entering rooms, seeing blood, dead covenant, and yellow dripping ooze. Finally I got to the door, the FMV took over. I watched with interest (who didn't?) Once I saw the infection for Flood, I was like "what the heck are those things?" After the video ended, I knew I was gonna face those "little buggers". They came busting out of every where, with me saying "holy crap they are every where!" I blew the buggers away with my assault rifle. Then, the Combat form Flood came in. My first reaction was "holy DANG!"
I blew them away, finished the level, startled, itchy, and spooked.
The Library was even worse, as I had up close, and personal encounters with Flood. They were every where, and came out of nowhere, and didn't stop coming. It was an experience like no other, and it was fun and scary at the same time.
Ever since, I've hated, and loved the Flood. I'm intrigued by them, but freaked out by them at the same time. I want to find out more on em, and right now, that's my quest...
Anyway, my little rap is done. Sorry if it took so long or went on forever, but that's my first time experience with "the parasite".
