I disagree, there is a point where something becomes to plain with just simple geometric shapes, and then there is a point when something becomes to cluttered, I think Bungie.net have found the sweet spot.
Out of interest, have you ever tried to use Bungie.net on a computer with a slow processor (we're talking P4 here), limited RAM (256MB) and a 512Mb connection? It's slow, ponderous and maddening. Now, bearing in mind that that isn't a bad model for smart phones, have you ever tried using B.net from your phone? Rage inducing.

The site needs a complete overhaul, and that overhaul basically needs to design it around using it on a smart phone, tablets and desktop computers/laptops. Attempting to navigate Bungie.net's drop down menus with a smart phone is a nightmare. Having different mobile and desktop sites is also a complete nuisance.

Not to mention the site seems to be designed around 1024x768 resolution. What is this, the 90's? Every laptop shipped for years runs 1366x768, and even phones are running resolutions similar to that now. (mine isn't, alas, 480x800) Since that's the minimum resolution to snap two windows side by side in Windows 8, you'd think the next site would be optimised to make good use of Windows 8's features.

Edit: The mobile site still doesn't have a mobile version of the forums? Honestly, what is the mobile site even for?

Have you noticed that with Corgi, Halcylon and DeeJ keeping us occupied with shenanigans Achronos has dropped off the radar....

I was simply referring to the front end design. There is no question that the back end needs some fine tuning. As for the mobile devices, I agree, a mobile forum function would be nice.

I've been trying to figure that out since they released the whole app for the site.

I never understood why people mention Facebook if some features get suggested (which also are mutual to Facebook). Fair enough if there are loads and loads of things but something like a friend's list or liking posts shouldn't necessarily be restricted to it.
I know right, the day we can blog on Bungie.net is the day that it becomes facebook.

The app seems more than a little pointless. Surely coming up with a relatively easy to navigate forum setup and adding it in would actually make it worthwhile?

Dude, I got it. I'm just having a sense of humor.

I don't mind if the site changes, as long as it stays unique. Every damn website out there looks exactly the same, especially all those that use VBulletin. As long as Bungie.net visually impresses me, I welcome the change, and I definitely welcome enhancements and upgrades alongside a cosmetic update.

Oh, can we also get some sort of feature that stops us losing our posts if b.net decides to have a fit after you click 'submit' or if you click back by accident. (usually by accidentally pressing my laptop touchpad and then hitting backspace)

It's standard in Zetaboards and the like, and it would save a considerable amount of rage. (I just lost a 2k+ character post to this. Bah.)

Like a "save draft". I'm all for it.

I know groups is a place for a gathering of friends, but it would be nice to see a "friends list feature." The old friends feature only tracked Live friends only. Seeing your friends recent activity at the click of a button would be perfect.

There's a script for that, until it (might) get implemented. It's called posting tools or something. Also lets you input the BBcode and makes named URLs less maddening.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

The trick is not to write out 2k+ character posts. Seriously, it just isn't worth it.

Any post I put considerable thought and time in (very rare), I copy immediately prior to posting. I've been on here long enough to see many posts not go through or accidental mouse clicks that take me away from the page and delete all of my work.

I completely agree, the dropdown menus are extremely convenient and space friendly on desktops, but trying to use them with a touchscreen is annoying. I would love a mobile site for my phone that has the same style as the site and navigational.

Idk about that, but i'm not saying your wrong.

they might stylise it for their new IP

I think they will redesign the site based off their new game.
That.... that's what an IP is...
