Subject: Would you be fine with a Halo 2 Anniversary?

Think about this for a second before you blindly say yes. If 343 Industries announced that they are going to be remaking Halo 2 just like they did with Halo Combat Evolved, would you be fine with it? There would be new graphics, new music, as well as either Halo Reach or Halo 4 multiplayer.

CEA worked out well, so I would be all for Halo 2A.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

I'm excited at even the prospect. Too bad that the multiplayer would most likely be through the latest Halo title. :(

Because somehow releasing a remake of a game that doesn't end up well ends up hurting the original game. Makes no sense but what can you expect from people that have unrealistically zealous love for something?

Truth is, I think this would be great. I'd love to see what they could do with it. If it turns out great, awesome. If it turns out bad, who cares? I still have the original Halo 2 on the Xbox. There's no loss unless you have some strange idea that the game will "Lose its integrity" because of this. If you don't want it, don't buy it. Don't even pay attention to it. Just continue on with what you like and don't say "No" just so other people can't get what they want.

Vote for me for a free cookie.

Yes. I would be extremely fine with that.

Looking for clan that isn't too serious? Then join the ODST 501st Airborne Battalion. Go to http://www.501st.forumclan.com for more info.

Only if it is an updated version of Halo 2. That means new graphics and new soundtrack (both being able to change to classic), and an updated version of Halo 2 multiplayer. If they just dump it with Halo 4 multiplayer, I'm not buying it.

I myself would be fine with a Halo 2 Anniversary, but I don't think that I would buy it unless I had friends that would want to play co-op.

My favorite group.

I would love that.

H2A would be a great idea aslong as the game did not lag in coop.
If this would be the case then i would hope they just run new graphics ,and not old and new side by side. as so many have said this is the problem.

The old/new graphics running side by side was not the problem when it comes to Co-Op lag. The problem was the base game its self. They were committed to not changing things in the engine so it was hard for them to create a working Co-Op. They did the best they could with the Halo community on their backs about this stuff...

I would buy the game. Although, they would need to make the multiplayer the same as the campaign. I hate how they used the Reach engine for Halo CEA multiplayer.

  • 05.03.2012 11:14 AM PDT

This is a Reach account that I created the day they announced his name in a bnet weekly update. Any stats regarding ODST or Halo 3 are irrelevant. Also, Halo CE master race. Halo 1 > other halo games > other games.

Account Status: Silver :(

No, CEA was a failure. They needed to have the entire multiplayer with updated graphics and instead they redesigned them for Reach. Reach has broken spawning and gameplay mechanics are extremely noob friendly. I would rather them remake a Halo 1 online multiplayer arcade game first.

an updated version of Halo 2 multiplayer
an updated version
updated

No. Because update will mean changed engine (like CEA MM running on Reach's engine) which means changed spawns (spawn system embedded in H4 engine or whatever they'd use) and possibly the removal of button glitches. Any or all of these things would detract from the greatness of the game.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Yes, but I want it like this

No new charatcer models, keep the old models but put them into a new graphics engine

Fix some of the annoying glitches

Arbiter, Councilors, Honor guard Elites - I'd like to see new models as long as they aren't from another existing Halo game. I wouldn't mind H3 Arbiter but they'd have to get rid of the flashlight armor attachment (unless they change gameplay and give Arbiter an usable flashlight).

Marines - they could use a graphical update. Their faces looked kinda strange in H2.

Grunts - old model. Imo, they'll never be cute again.
Brutes - old model. Imo, they'll never be hairy again.

And yeah, some glitches need to be fixed, at least graphically. I was disappointed CEA didn't do it with the Stealth Elites. Those glowing swords made them easy to kill in CE. All I saw in Anniversary was the glow being dulled.

I won't buy it unless they make it fun. Basiacly redo the entire engine and fix the story problems and I'll consider

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Halo Anniversary was just fine, so I'm ok with a Halo 2 Anniversary version. I must admit playing co-op campaign over live sounds very good, I no longer have to play splitscreen with my friends to play campaign. Just hope they keep all of the old Halo 2 maps on the anniversary edition and glitches/superbounces/easter eggs.

I support Halo 2 and Halo 3 anniversary.
