I would like to see a major world city such as New York City, los angelos, london, tokyo, paris, Shanghai, El Salvador, Berlin, Madrid, Athens, Cairo, Hong Kong, Moscow, Sydney or Rome in the game, hopefully in a destitute condition. Cuz that would be cool to see a former major city in a third world condition.

No...Shiska, Mombasa is 3rd world compared to America...and think about it-New York has population of 8.1 million-so if Mombasa has more than just 1 million, then think about New York 500 years ahead. It would be way more advanced-and I hope the covenant destroy Yankee Stadium.

im pretty sure that mombasa was not a very rich city, so if a rich city from America or England or France or something would be pretty cool cause of the like awesome tech, where we could get development weapons from labs....anyways.....im getting off on a tangent....what do you think about larger cities in Halo3?

A prime example of IGNORANCE in it's purest form. You claim you're a highschool student, but you still don't know anything about Africa.

Africa is deep on metaphorical meaning. Africa is the birthplace of humans. Homosapiens Idaltu, a fairly recently discovered Human ancestor, was found in Ethiopia. So what if you go to school. Open a book.

Mombasa is a pretty big city. It would be cool to see MC go to other cities and clear covies out.

Why, Why America? It's always America in the movies, in games, in books, in allmost all media available something is happening in America. Allmost every game where aliens attack, they land only in America, people in the game say the world is doomed, note, only America infested, you kill alien baddies, all of the sudden, you saved the world, so acording to America, America is the world. So why America? Heck, I'd love to see something happen in Finland sometime. No, it's not possible untill someone inside Finland decides to make a game of the Winter War, or the Continuation War. I guess none of you knows what those are anyway.

Canberra is captial, but no ones likes it. Newcastle... for shame. The greater city is Melbourne all the way!

I wouldnt say no one likes it. I'm a proud canberran and i know plenty others that feel the same way! Melbourne might survive as the covenant would get confused by all the hook turns and give up and move elsewhere. :-)

Dude America took over the world, thats why everyone speaks english in an american accent (oh, the Aussies helped and the "Mexicans were Americans" *cough*) thats why Africa is rich now.

Funny isn't it? After America took over the world, they changed the capitol of Earth to Sydney. Says so in one of the books if I remember correctly. That is exactly the thing I would do if, say Finland took over the world with the aid of Spain. Change the capitol of Earth to some city from Spain.

Otherwise, Naqser pretty much said what I was going to say.

I would like to see any city from the Halo series. Imagine Mexico City in 2552, currrently it has a population of over 10 million people. In 500 years that place would be huge. I think some people care too much about the story moving to America. Im an American yet Im fine with having the Halo 3 story take place in another country. America is great and all but there are other countries that are just as interesting.

cause if we never heard of Mombasa, and its a small city now, imagine what places like Boston would be like

Mombasa has a population just shy of one million people, and is the largest city in Kenya. You've never heard of it before because you don't pay enough attention in school, not because it's "small and poor."

I heard of Mombasa before Halo 2. I also know that Mombasa would be a great place for a space elevator to be located because it is close to the ocean and equator. Wow, people don't know this stuff? I must be smart or something.

I think that there should be some levels where there are American cities. Or any other worldwide metropolis', like Pris, London, or TOKYO!!! Who thinks that would be crazy cause if we never heard of Mombasa, and its a small city now, imagine what places like Boston would be like [I say Boston cause Boston is awesome and if the covenant get theyre dirty little paws on Fenways ill kill them so bad theyll wish they were dead like 4 hours ago]

anyways

Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya. It has a major port and an international airport. The city is the centre of the coastal tourism industry.

The above is a quote from wikipedia. Mombasa ain't no small city. You just never heard of it until this game, since it's in Africa.

Yeah sure, the ocean has something to do with the space elevator. not. only the equtor has something to do with something that high. Have you ever watched a ball spin very hard? if it's wet the all the water is thrown of it, don't know what it's called in english. Anyway, if you would build a space elevator in say, antarctica, then that force would pull it outwards, the elevator would bend, and eventually fall over, as for a space elevator on the equator, the force itself helps to keep it standing becasue the elevator is being "pulled" from earth while standing tall, not the case of it being in antarcita, where it would be pulled from some direction.

No offenence to other cities, but Imagin New York not as war torn, instead before halo 2 like a year before. My god it would be sweat and it would make you fell like an ant, the building could be loke 500 stories high.

and WTF does the oceam have to d owith a space elevator.

the plans that we have now to build a space elevator would put it somewhere in the pacific near south america. the reason is that if theres a problem with the elevator such as a asteroid were to hit near it, a bad storm etc... you can move it. plus it would be easier to ship cargo to the elevator by boat.

quote from wikipedia "The base station designs typically fall into two categories—mobile and stationary. Mobile stations are typically large oceangoing vessels, though airborne stations have been proposed as well. Stationary platforms are generally located in high-altitude locations, such as on top of high towers.

Mobile platforms have the advantage of being able to maneuver to avoid high winds, storms, and space debris. While stationary platforms don't have this, they typically have access to cheaper and more reliable power sources, and require a shorter cable. While the decrease in cable length may seem minimal (typically no more than a few kilometers), that can significantly reduce the minimal width of the cable at the center, and reduce the minimal length of cable reaching beyond geostationary orbit significant"

you certainly missed something there, the space elevator in halo, is most certainly not mobile, it's on land and built inside a city, being near the water has nothing to do with the space elevator if it isn't mobile
