Subject: Now that Bungie is separated from Microsoft, will sign in change?

If the sign in is in any way difficult, it turns people away. That is very bad.

I've been having problems signing in on Google Chrome (Which is my primary browser) and have had to switch to Firefox whenever I wish to sign in on this site. Any tips?

Sounds good to me, Windows Live ID blows pretty hard.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I hope the sign in changes, I want to be able to change my sign in password and email.

You can change that on Windows Live no? Granted I made a whole new account.

I use Chrome exclusively and I never have a single problem with it. Check your settings for your browser, it may be interfering with the sign-in process because a setting is slightly off.

Also, it may help to completely delete Firefox. That system has become a P.O.S. since they started doing their "an update every six weeks" thing. Their updates are killing their own browser. But I digress... having two browser programs active also may be screwing with some lines of code that are affecting the ability to pass the security of the sign-in process.

I suggest ditching Firefox completely.

the only problem i have with mine is that it's unstable,[very shakey],so you'd need a tripod for it.

Just drink a beer and everything will be ok

^^ Use IE8 ^^

Personally, I don't mind the sign in system the way it is. I've never had any problems with it to date.

Without it, we don't know what your Xbox Live account is.

You could always guess.

Don't listen to Uriel, Firefox and Chrome can be buddies. They don't steal code from one another. You can have both open and running just fine.

I find that when sign-in is a little shaky, I often go to live.com in another window, and sign out (if applicable) then sign in again on that site. When you go back to bungie.net, that usually helps.

Or perhaps you should reinstall Chrome. It'd be hard to help more without additional details but hopefully that helps you.

Windows Live ID is the only method available to us to gain authenticated access to your gamertag. Without it, we don't know what your Xbox Live account is.

I hadn't thought of that. Makes sense. Assuming the Next Big Thing is multi-platform, will bnet then require two logins? One for gamertags, and one for... ummmmm, whatever gamertags are called on the Playstation Network?

Uh, Chrome updates silently in the background all the time. They just don't increment a version number. Firefox is going to do that too (they might already have started).

So yeah, you don't know what you're talking about.

If you are having trouble signing in, it is almost certainly because you have corrupted live cookies. Go to either xbox.com or live.com, sign in if you aren't already, and then sign out. Then close your browser, and try bungie.net again. If that doesn't work, clear all your cookies. To prevent it from happening in the future, stop checking the box that says "remember my password".

Кланяються мені!

I wouldn't think they would change it by much. Since to get your XBl information you have to have entered valid WLID credentials. But mainly because it would seem the current system of doing things has been in place for long there is little reason to change it. Who knows? The webteam I am very sure does know.

Note creating a Bungie account via your Google account instead of WLID or PSN, is not really a change more of an addition IMO.

Really now?

As you can see (besides what the big guy said), having multiple browsers is NOT an issue.....even slightly.

I don't mind either, but that's likely because I also have a gamertag on XBL. Signing in with other credentials (like Facebook, for instance) would be convenient, but it seems like Achronos is investigating better solutions.

Improving the sign in/identity/account management aspect of bungie.net is pretty high up on our list of "things we need to get better at".
So is that on the list of things we can expect in the newest iteration of hawtness?
