"Time was your ally human. But now it has abandoned you. The Forerunners....have returned. And this tomb... is now yours". - The Didact

Why has it been decided that Spartans can wear what ever color armor they want, even if it's dreadfully useless for combat?

Or has the UNSC officially switched from olive-drab to "super fabulous purply-blue" as the combat colors for it's ground troops.

Traviss, this isn't Republic Commando. Soldiers cant choose the colour of their damn armor.

Noble team did.

The ODST team did.

Hmm, interesting. I never read the first book and really don't plan on getting this one. But, who knows, we'll see. Frankie said they're releasing it before Halo 4 for a reason, so it may be worth taking a look at.

You should read it, it was written by Karen Traviss, she's an excellent writer and the book isn't bad, picks up right after Ghost of Onyx and Halo 3 and it has alot of interesting twist and turns and the characters are unique as well.

If that is Osman then she's decked out in some fancy Mark V armor with Mark V-B helment.

Meh, I heard from a reliable source (the OP) to not bother with it. Traviss changes a wee bit too much for my liking. But, we'll see. I could be wrong and might like it.

Yeah, like suddenly Halsey and Mendez can't stand each other, Hood is a complete idiot and ignores a painfully obvious detail that ANYBODY with half a mind can get.

Oh, and ONI sides with the Elites that would attack humanity without a second blink.

I mean, I got this picture post Halo 3 is humanity rebuilding, a shattered military and economy. Now I'm getting this picture that ONI has an utterly massive fleet, army, and brand new shiny prototype tech. While at the same time, Earth is in ruins and they are trying to rebuild.

Conflicting messages much?

Oh, and ONI literally turned into a less sneaky Cerberus.

Well, apparently in Halo 4's "canon MP" the Spartans get to pick weapon skins too.

Think about this from a psychological point of view. A woman kidnaps a lot of children and makes the parents thing they're dead, and you train them and deprive them of their childhood and life they would have had. That takes its toll on you. Hell, in First Strike, it was even taking its toll on Halsey. Keep in mind also that during Ghosts of Onyx it was essentially all fighting and very little time to talk, now that is not that case. While she did jump the shark a bit, it isn't that bad.

ONI sides with the Elites so they could get into a war with the other Elites and weaken the species as a whole, making it easier to possibly destroy.

This one I see your point, but keep in mind they have always been sneaky bastards, and I didn't get that impression. I got the impression of they had some stuff in reserve that just wasn't ready to be utilized fully yet/to expensive to use, keep in mind there is a little time between Glasslands and the ending of Halo 3 as well which does give a LITTLE leeway with this stuff.

If Glasslands is the worst book so far then I'd love to see the best, mostly because I kinda liked Glasslands and don't understand the hate for it.

There's no way Nate Hawbaker's favorite hero is Alan Stuart

ALAN IS A BEAUTIFUL MAN!

I loved Glasslands. I hope they continue the excellent trend.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Pretty cool cover.

Still have to get my hands on Grasslands, though.

ALL HAIL GABEN

Need to get caught up on the Halo books. I've only read the first 3.

*Sigh*

Honestly, I can't stand Glasslands. I could accept the rather foolish idea of ONI's to kill the Elites; I even.... was fine, I suppose, with Osman's character and her band of annoying misfits (every book has to have a person/group to dislike).

However, I didn't care for Traviss' portrayal of the previously established characters. Halsey being an incompetent sobbing Sally? Her S-IIs basically giving her to the wolves, with no fight in them whatsoever? Mendez suddenly acting all high and mighty about the S-IIIs? ONI being the group that takes the moral high ground?

I'm fine with having new authors do stuff for Halo, but I hope that 343i can at least try to give a damn about Bungie's canon and not -blam!- all over it to make their's look better.

Wow, those Infinity Class Cruisers are huge, I wonder how many there are?

  • 05.21.2012 11:01 PM PDT

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

They are not cruisers.

Cruisers are about 1.2km long. Maybe less.

Infinity is 3.5km long, I had a theory that they are likely new class of supercarriers. Since carrier and phoenix class is only known to be largest warships (roughly 2km long). It's safe enough to assert that supercarrier would be 3-4km long.
