No, I've seen many of the map editors on Xbox games and I'm not impressed. The detail put into the least of Halo 2's Multiplayer maps can't be touched by anything short of a profession development kit, and you can't fit that along with Halo 3 on one disc. And the level of precision control when useing a mouse is alot greater for these kinds of things then what you would get with a controler.
I know about making maps because I used to make modifications to existing halo maps on my xbox a while ago. Makeing a completely new map is alot harder then changeing an existing one, and a good mod can take weeks to finish. No one will invest the time to make a "good" map that is balanced and fun to play on. People will try to put in their own secret weapon caches and teleporters to give them an advantage over the other players.
The map maker just won't work, and I hope bungie realises this, because I won't play on Live if I have to download a new map for every custom game I come across.
