What he said and if people in all of the forums call bungie members to there threads.... asking them do this is "crazy"
Again, it would take multiple "calls" to even notify an employee. Just. Like. Reports.

What about all the threads in the flood..

Example: subject; i love ponys

Body: ilove ponys make sure bugie knows.. everyone "call" this thread
It's the same as making a thread in the septagon saying "everyone go report this guy".

Bannable offense.

I am aware that Bungie employees often browse the forums, and do their best to respond to certain posts, but it is quite easy for some to slip by them. This way, that could be avoided.

The way it would work is, there would be a button located next to the report button, that if enough unique users pressed, would cause the post to be added to a queue that could be viewed by employees.
Sounds like a customer support system.

Posted by: insaneAssass1n9
An example of the application and benefit of this can be seen with this post that I made in the Mail Sack 16 thread.

I asked if we could have multiple submissions, only to have my question lost among the pages and unanswered.

With this feature, if enough people felt that the question was important enough to be answered, than it would have been easily found by an employee to be answered.
This is precisely the same argument I have made for wanting to be able to rate posts.

People would probably end up abusing the call button.

  • 05.06.2012 2:51 AM PDT

I don't think I'd like it. It'd be abused beyond measure. And why should employees or ninjas be called upon to answer these questions? That's not their duty nor their responsibility to answer questions.

If they find out you've been abusing the report feature, you're banned.

As long as there is also a request button to bring doughnuts with them, then yes. Otherwise, nope.

Heheheh, just as planned. On a serious note, I doubt the web team would want to work on the side as callboys (unless they do, but hey, I ain't judging). Not to mention not every employee on this site possess powers, or all the answers.

Oh yeah, and try messaging Deej about your question. I've personally never messaged the man, but I'm sure he'd be more than willing to answer that question, and not totally yell at you.

Obviously he didn't mean for call boys, just replace them with "Bungie Booty Call women". I prefer more ladies looking at my threads ;)

I think your idea has good intentions but is unrealistic. We've been getting pretty good interaction with Bungie employees for a while now so I don't find this necessary.

Effectively, yes. It would be a very similar feature, but more of a private way of doing it.

Why not. No one has been able to present an irrefutable argument against it.

In a way yes, but there is problem with that. The Mail sacks only come out once a week, and certain questions are effectively null by the time they would be answered. For example, the example I used in the op.

If they feel they are recieving "too many" posts on the queue, they could just raise the required amount of button presses for it to be added.

Ignoring any argument being made for the fact that "everyone thinks their question is super important" because of the fact that it would take numerous "calls" to bring any given post to an employee's attention, and the "they will just use alts" argument considering this doesn't seem to be a problem with reporting which works largely the same way and therefore this "problem" is null as a source of abuse for this feature...

Would any of you like to explain to me how this would be abused?
