...only in The Flood

I played Halo:CE this afternoon with my mate and I saw that: on the elimination game-mode, it says 'winner is the last cyborg standing!' But I thought for sure that spartans weren't cyborgs!

if you read the books, you know that all the Spartans are GENETICALY altered, given better reflexes and strength. Spartans arent Cyborgs, they are superhumans in cool armor

Ummmm...Well, the Halo Combat Evolved manual says something different.

Page 5, Paragraph 1...

On Reach, a secret military project to create cyborg super-soldiers takes on a newfound importance.

Carrots.

They went into surgery, they have metals and other things emplanted into their body, their suit is connected to his nerves, he is a cyborg.

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

And also the armour moves for him via a neural implant in his brain because the armour is so heavy, so they're technically cyborgs.

And for some reasons, Grunts occasionally yell out "Bad, Bad cyborg!"

Okay. I believe I speak for a lot of people. If I don't... then, weellll, I guess I speak for myself.

When I think of Cyborg, I think of a man, but with half of his body as a metal shell. You know, all those sci-fi films that also emphasize cyborg in the hollywood way.

But, if you check up a dictionary definition, it means that 'a human who has certain physiological processes aided or controlled by mechanical or electronic devices'

He's a cyborg, but in a different way. Basically, he's "a different species of cyborg". Because all of those implants (occular, and so on) Check page 57 in the Fall of Reach for details.

Too bad they didn't do such a hot job explaining that in the novels. Keyes said specifically that they're ALL humans.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

He is a cyborg not a human, o you ever read the manual.

Facts are the enemy of tru7h....

You can be both a cyborg and human... It's not like they're mutually exclusive...

Dammit where's a Venn diagram when you need one!

You guys suck at sci fi.

A cyborg is any being with a mechanical enhancement. In a Spartan's case, the neural lace they use to manipulate mjolnir armor qualifies them as cyborgs.

In real life, a person with a pacemaker is technically a cyborg.

"Dude with a mechanical arm" or "dude that is half robot" is simply a cliché cyborg.

Ah, my bad, I always though of a cyborg as a machine with like a living brain but it's the other way round

I've been around these parts for almost eight years now...wow! Maybe I should be concerned about that...

They are...they have genetic and artificial enhancments, as well as kickass mechanical armor, and a select few have annoying AI sidekicks.

Nope. The spartans are cyborgs. Cybernetic Organisms. They're cybernetic due to their suits, augmentations, and neural enhancements, and organisms due to the fact that they're sentient life.

The armor doesn't move for him, it just enhances his reflexes by means of an inner structure composed of an amorphous, reactive metal liquid crystal which scales and amplifies force. Although, their neural implant does technically make them cyborgs, as a matter of fact, the neural implant was stadard for all UNSC personnel, so they're all technically cyborgs.

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

They are cyborgs...all UNSC Marines, and personnel have the Neural implant in the top of their spines...the SPARTANs can also be seen as a cyborg because they have had augmentations made to their bone structures, and have an AI with them..Of course they're not full blown Darth Vader cyborgs, but even a fake finger would make you a cyborg..

Metallic bones don't make you a cyborg, Wolverines bones were grafted with adamantium and he wasn't a cyborg. Besides, the material was just grafted onto their bones, their entire skeletons weren't replaced with the stuff, it covered only three percent of their total bone mass. The material they used was carbide ceramic or something so technically it wasnt' even metal. To be technically considered a cyborg, there must be some sort of interaction between the original organic tissue, and some type of electronic or robotic components. Although the neural lace isn't a "robotic" component, it is an electronic interface connected to their brain, so technically they are cyborgs. I realize that I have repeated the word "technically" a multitude of times but that's pretty much what this argument comes down to.
