First, this thread is not complaining about specific posts, and is not saying people should stop posting their stuff. The more people post, the more my point is proven.

All across the Forum, there are theories and ideas running rampant, which is fine, but a lot of them run in direct contradiction to what Bungie has said. People will go on and on about how brilliant Bungie is(and they are), but then they'll say something or put something in their sig that contradicts something Bungie has said.

Examples:

Bungie has said that the rifle in the trailer is not the standard Assault Rifle from H1. Yet people continue to talk about how it is THE Assault Rifle from H1, and even have fancy signatures with an Ascii AR and "the assault rifle makes it's return in H3".

They'll talk about how the Spartan in the trailer is NOT MC because the armor doesn't look the same, despite the fact that Bungie has stated that the Spartan is indeed Master Chief.

They'll discuss "leaks" and articles from places like IGN or lyca.com, that are not official Bungie info sources (and thus not believable), and Bungie has SAID lyca.com has NOTHING to do with H3.

Then they'll post topics that have been previously posted, in direct defiance of the forum's policy. You're supposed to read the stickies first, but people don't.

In conclusion, if you all respect Bungie so much, why don't you start listening to what Bungie says. And the moderators, who represent Bungie's interests on this Forum.

*applauds* Could'nt agree more.

On a side note there is nothing wrong persay with speculating. In fact it can be fun at times. What is'nt fun is reading through mounds and mounds of garbage theories that are blind wishful thinking placed in theory form, or questions/contradictions carefully disquised as a theory or just rampant ramblings of some bored person. I enjoy reading a speculation or idea if what is being talked about is well thought out and is somthing that has a legitimate chance of being a possibility. My simple rule of thumb when it comes to posting theories or ideas is...

Before you post it. Think, and ask yourself these 3 questions...

-Is this somthing that Bungie would do?
-Is it somthing that fits in with the established Halo universe?
-Does such an idea/theory buck the trend to much?

If the answere is no to the first two and yes to the third then don't bother because your just wasteing time and forum space.

Do you might giving us the link to where Bungie said lyca.com isn't related to Halo 3? I'm not saying your wrong, I'd just like to see where you got the information.

I couldn't find the actual post stating that Lyca is not H3 related, but I did find this post from Shishka about how lyca was not related. Right after he blacklisted the dude who posted it.

I feel a lock comin' on.

Although I do agree, making a thread to complain about this isn't exactly the best way of going about this. You're just contributing to the problem by creating this topic bumping good threads even further off of the front page. Just ignore it and support the good threads that are dying because people keep posting dumb ones.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

is this guy a moderator in disguise?

You might not get locked on this, but you are contributing to the problem, no matter what your intentions were. I agree, but let it die.

P.S. I do remember Bungie saying no on Lyca.

the barrel going out of the gun in the teaser looks longer than the ar did in halo one perhaps it will fire diffrent rounds like how the spartans fired shredder rounds in the books

It's simply because not everyone reads the weekly update. Or some do so with their eyes closed.
