I think since the game isn't titled 'Master Chief', they should have two seperate campaigns, actually giving you a decision who you'd like to play with. For example, you chose to play as MC, no Arbiter at all, you'll see him at time in the game, like when you were Arbiter in Halo 2 and had to kill the rebel covenant captain, he would make certain appearances, and at one point you'd kill him, or vice versa.Either way the stories for both of them should tie together, like in Halo 2, in the end them seeing each other for blame of what happened in Halo 2, and depending on who you are means a different ending, like Arbiter kills chief, ending he takes the index and activates Halo's defense thing, destroys mankind, or MC kills Arbiter, blasts the index far away in another lightyear, meaning Halo would never become a threat again.

i would like to see both of them die but not in a blaze of glory or by johnson. like the arbiter kills the chief (face it, chief has been alive wayyyyyyy to long) and then the arbiter kills himself for all his sins

Get more people to vote. And it would be sweet to see the Chief and the Arbitor go down together defending control console to the ark as wave after wave of Brutes and jackels and Drones are rushing them but the Chief and the Arbitor have tons on Elite back up but in the end they get killed in a blazed of glory and the flood get destroyed

I voted for both of them to go down in a blaze of glory. I feel that since there both heroes they should both go down like heroes.

you are so -blam!- stupid. Haven't you played Halo 2. In the end Arbiter joins Johnson and Keyes. Why the -blam!- would he kill chief. If anyone dies, it's Arbiter but he's fighting along side MC to stop the last boss.bHe's going to sacrifice hiself to save the universe. Halo's purpose is to stop the flood by starving them of food. They do that by destroying dead matter. But death can't be stopped cuz wherever there is life, there is death. so Halo will stop death by stopping life. Arbiter knows of this and will do what he must to stop it even if it means taking his own life. dumb -blam!-

u gys keep saying that they may or may not kill eachother but who fugging knows, this game is made by BUNGIE any sort of wacky crap could happen any moment like -blam or -blam. The arbitor may indeed kill the Chief or Johnson could hack both to pieces with a machette...

pointless as far as the index is concerned, they could activate it from the arc or manually activate all the other halos

They should die like the soldiers they are, in a giant explosion defending the ark or something like that.

This thread shall live!

I always figured that one of two things would happen:

1) Arbiter sacrifices himself for a human, and/or the humans' fight.

2) Both MC and Arbiter live, with the Arbiter leading the Covenant somehow.

I like option one better, I think- what better way to help bridge the gap of trust between Covenant and Humans? I certainly don't think the story will end with them still at each others' throats- the fact that the Arbiter has been introduced lets us know that there are Covenant out there that can be (somewhat) cared for. Completely eliminating them would seem a little bit... I don't know... sick?

This wouldn't work. Why do you think the Elites, Grunts, and Hunters were fighting the Brutes, Jackels and Drones. Because the Arbiter found out what Halo actually does and stop the brutes from activating Halo.

Actually when John first encontered an Elite it nearly killede him. And this was a Minor(Blue) Elite. The lowest class of Elite. He also had shields from the previous enconter with the Jackels abord the alien ship. And I know this because I've read the books.
