How similar do you think the Precursors look to us (&Forerunners)? I think they look similar to us because the Forerunner said they were made in the Precursors' image, and since we too came from Precursors, and we and Forerunners look very similar, do you think the Precursors look similar to us or no? Let me know what you think.

Precursors have 4 arms, the Precursors made the Forerunners to look like them. Forerunners didn't create us.

Precursors look nothing like us or the Forerunners. The Precursors have four arms, two legs, a tail, and their head looks like the head of a Sea scorpion.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Absolutely nothing at all like humanity or the Forerunners.

From the description of the Timeless One, Precursors are relatively similar in appearance to a eurypterid.

The TO was about 15 feet tall, 11 meters wide, had 4 arms, a large amount of legs, mandibles, and a large barbed tail. (Reminding you of anything?)

the timeless one wasn't an ordinary precursor it was several combined into a gravemind.

That's assuming the Primordial was telling the truth about being the last Precursor. I personally think he was talking out of his arse, however many of them he has.

Don't they look crab like?

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

The Timeless One may be only one TYPE of Precursor. For all we know, they could be a conglomerate of races like the Covenant were.

What a waste....

I just finished Primordium under a minute ago.
Pretty strange if I do say so myself, but the Precursors probably looked NOTHING like us.

Not saying it was aliens that made humans...but it was aliens.

The Gravemind does not remind me of the Timeless one at all.
I think of it as some sort of spider/scorpion cross.

Haha, fantastic!

Either way, I'm not sure if we can take our entire idea of what Precursors look like from the Timeless One, I seem to recall that he was something to do with the Flood (it's been a while since I read it!), and may not look like a normal Precursor. Or he was the first Gravemind. Or something else entirely. Once my exams are over, I'm reading that book again!

It should because the Gravemind and the Timeless One share the same consciousness; from what little we see of the Gravemind, the head exactly matches the description of the Timeless One.

"Where ere thou hast been, here or in yon world manifest? Canst thou tell what is, or what was, or what is to come? No thing shall last. Yet there are some things that will never change. History is written in blood, yet are battles really lost on the battlefield? Canst thou tell me where thou comest, and where thou goest, and what is, or what was, or what will be? For everything remains, AS IT NEVER WAS."

Here's what I think the Timeless One looks like, based on Cryptum. Also, AJW, from what I've read on the Timeless One, his head more closely resembles the Flood Pure Form Stalkers and Titans.

That is about all that matches the description. I see no mass of legs, no barbed tail, and no arms. The Timeless One can probably change his appearance. He is a flood form after. In Crytum he was described as vaguely humanoid, but in Primordium it describes him somewhat similar to a spider.

hopefully the next book will go into more detail with the precursor flood relationship, and maybe halo 4 might even have some information on the precursors.
