Currently I don't have my 360, but I have such an urge to play you 1v1 in octagon...
If your talking to me I've played octagon a total of 3 times and I am terrible at it...
Octagon is the most simple way to measure how good one's shot is. It gets rid of variables such as map control, weapon control, awareness and stuff.
I'm fine with Octagon or 1v1 mlg ffa sanctuary too. Just not for another month or so :(
No, its sitting in one spot and pulling the trigger directly across from you. Sniping people over cannon or when you are 1 shot and they are full shield in MLG measures how good your shots are... Also I realized why I have done bad against people in 1v1s before, it was because they had Astros or turtles while I had nothing. Being able to hear where someone is at all times when your opponent can't is a pretty huge disadvantage in a 1v1... Getting rid of awareness seems pretty stupid to me... But what do I know? I'm not a 1v1 expert.
Fair enough. But I think that the spawn trapping is so consistent that it happens nearly every kill. If you miss it it's your fault and error. And the reason I prefer octagon is because I think being able to shoot is the basis of a first person shooter, and should be used to measure skill. A normal 1v1 game is good to measure skill in that game, but not necessarily any game else. Too many variables. But 1v1 sanctuary is fine because it tests your shot and map/weapon awareness, which are probably the most important things in competitive Halo.
