Long live the days of CE where you could outgun 3 people at a time who you were legitimately better than. Then there's Reach, where you're more or less dead when 3 people gang up on you (mainly due to slow kill times) unless you have environmental or power weapon advantage.

With the CE pistol you probably wont need that. Just you, your strafe, and a triple kill. Simply glorious.

I <3 Halo:Reach - amazingly fun and best campaign + amazing Soundtrack
I <3 Halo 3:ODST - best soundtrack + Firefight + Coastal Highway and Mombassa Streets, amazingly unique campaign.
I <3 Halo 3 - best multiplayer levels + Forge + best Custom Games + soundtrack
I <3 Halo 2 - amazing huge fun campaign + soundtrack + Fun multiplayer

You guys have failed logic.

Me and an MLG player are going to have a 1 V 1. He has a 2.50 KD, and is better then me in every way. We play the game, and I end up getting 3 kills on him, and he gets 15.

See where Im going? Its like any time I get a kill against someone better then me, you automatically blame the game, when there will be times that the "skilled player" will die. Doesnt make Anniversary any different from Reach, other then a overpowered pistol.

I could go get an overkill in a Halo:Reach game, and then only get a double kill in Anniversary and say how more equal Reach is compared top Anniversary, because the DMR isnt a 3 shot weapon, and requires more skill to get more headshots. Seriously, your entire post Goat is flawed.

Have you ever been team pistoled? You die instantaneously. There has to be a sizable skill difference to outshoot multiple enemies singlehandedly; faster utility weapon killtimes lead to a greater skill gap, compared to lolDefault or TU. Melees are discouraged by the settings, and most importantly no AAs.

The Anniversary pistol is still underpowered compared to the CE pistol; The effective range is too small, because of the spread. CE had the most balanced sandbox of the Halo series. So, it is no surprise that Anniversary is one of the few good things about Reach.

Reach has hitscan on the pistol.... Sadly, I don't think it can be changed. I would love to have gravity and bullets that have an actual flight path, but Anniversary is a compromise since it is in the Reach engine. Hitscan does make it too easy to hit a target at close range. As I mentioned earlier, the spread ruins the weapon at longer ranges.

Despite the fundamentally different pistol, I find that Anniversary is my favorite set of playlists in Reach; especially after Heavies was introduced to BTB, and most of the other decent playlists were removed or ruined by other updates. It is the last place other than MLG that isn't destroyed by AAs and slow paced game play; also, I'm pretty sure Anniversary and MLG are the only gametypes that still have bleedthrough.

Anniversary is ok. I don't play BTB or default Reach playlists, like I used to do.

Yes, 3 headshot Magnum brings more competitve gaming, and that's great !

The only bad thing is that they doesn't changed the shotgun accuracy, seems like it's designed for campers. Just wait somebody on the corner and shoot.

Remember how accurate was the shotgun in Halo CE ? That was definitively the best shotgun of Halo ever.

Anniversary Classic is the only tolerable playlist, besides MLG, at this point.

^ Pretty much this, although Arena is starting to appeal to me a little more too.

AAs are a nifty mechanic, but they way they've been implemented in MM in the majority of playlists takes the focus off of the gunplay and places it on AA counters. Classic is awesome because it puts the focus right where it belongs - on the little cannon in my hand. The nerfed melee in Classic is nice too. Again, throwing the focus to my hand-cannon.

IMO Super Slayer would be more popular if it included some more streamlined gametypes with limited sets of AAs to choose from.

In a similar scenario, you could get all 3 with the anniversary pistol if you played it right. Of course you'd either have to reload, use a nade, or another weapon, but you'd still walk away because you can quickly eliminate someone and move onto the next player.

I don't know, those 3 only landed 3 bullets between them :P

I get your point though, Halo:CE had an insane skill gap.

However I don't think Anniversary comes anywhere near close to Halo:CE in skill gap.
