Anniversary plays nothing like the original

Anniversary sucks...

Guy across the map spams 3 shots at you at fastest pistol ROF and kills you.

You try same thing and sometimes it works (which is ridiculous given the reticle/bloom size) and sometimes it doesn't. Anniversary is as bad as default, imo.

I still prefer TU.

ZomG, for those people wanting to know everything, this is not my Main tag anymore, (McCrash IS for Posting on B.net)

Original XbL Gamertag, zeDutchKreatiVz, as you guessed, Im Dutch/from Holland/Amsterdam.

...Also wTf happened to Halo.......*sighs*

lol I dislike Goat, because I matched with him once, and he had full party thus wins.

Also, nope the 3 shot doesnt do it for me, the movement I like.
and you outgun people most likely because a teammate shot at the guy your aiming at.
Full team = Call outs.
however, I agree that anniversary > default Reach.
Halo 3 would Always win from these newcomers.

EDIT, I kinda agree with the guy above me, TU above anything Reach.

~ Videogames are my favorite videogames ~

Maybe I'm getting old, but it's alright..

The movement feels off though, I don't remember it being that fast playing the PC version a bit ago. That and playing Headlong with Anniversary settings is weird too.
It's too bad they'd never put Blood Gulch into MM with the settings just to push their precious 'remake' for more sales.

CE multiplayer was more enjoyable with younger friends on xbox splitscreen I guess.

And then you die in a 1 vs 1 battle due to the pistols "Lazy Left Shot Syndrome."

Actually, I really only play Team Objective so no Jetpack/AL and double beatdown is only a problem if you can't strategize semi-quickly in this game.

Have fun with your large maps/no precision weapons outside the Sniper Rifle which is still beaten by 3shot spam across the map.

Anniversary would be great with the same anniversary settings over all the anniversary playlists, and not the Title Updated bull-blam!-.

You should always start with a Pistol and an Assault Rifle in all those playlists.

Who needs rifles when you've got a 3sk hand-cannon?
And c'mon dude - magnum beats sniper cross-map? Either your sniper's retarded or the magnum wielder is Jesus. In my experience any time I can 3sk a sniper across a map, I would have been able to 5sk him with a DMR just as easily.

Big maps are nice. The sniper rifle actually has a purpose beyond no-scoping. The headshot utility weapon actually sees ranges where it doesn't dominate. You might argue that point, but I personally think that a 1sk long range and a 3sk close/mid range is an awesome balance for most maps. Admittedly the rest of the sandbox is useless, but that's nothing new.
The only argument that really holds water is the bullet magnetism, and even that isn't as much of an issue because the magnum is so inaccurate to begin with. It's not perfect, but IMO it's the most balanced. I wish I could try out ZB 4sk DMRs vs the Classic Magnum. I think that would flesh out the sandbox and make for a really competitive, fast paced, exciting gameplay experience.

The magnum weilder doesn't have to be superpowered to 3sk with it. The maps which are in Team Anniversary are generally Hang 'em High, Pennance, Solitary, and Beaver Creek. The magnum has enough range on 3/4 of those maps to kill a sniper at any range on those maps (with the exception being Hang 'em High). Even on the remaining map, however, I have both been 3sk'ed from big base while at little base and I have done so.

In these types of cases, the Spartan himself doesn't even fill the damned reticle up, yet the shots still somehow hit the head.

Outside of that map, it's stupid to have a weapon that can dominate snipers (can 3sk if you ambush a sniper before he can turn and shoot once) from any distance.

I would also like to add that the size of the Magnum's reticle is the thing I hate the most about it. I understand that the gun was built for use at close range, but that doesn't stop it from being so random at range. I had the same problem with the BR in Halo 3. The enemy can be only filling a quarter of your reticle up and sometimes a shot fired will hit while the other times it will miss, even if you shoot under the same conditions despite whether you are pacing/spamming. What I would like the Magnum to have, to make it similar to other guns, is one of the small inner circles to let you know WHERE your shot will go, so it's not a crapshoot.

I hate being 3sk'ed from across Hang 'em High/other maps, I think it's cheap when I get lucky enough to land the same sort of shots, and so I think the list is much worse/more random than TU.

Well, Hang 'em High is probably the most common map in the hopper, so I suppose that may be prejudicing my perspective.
And yeah, you can 3sk across Hang 'em High, but if you're used to playing with a 3sk Magnum, it's not hard to duck after one shot hits you. If you're more than the kill-time away from cover, that's a gameplay error. As for taking a sniper by surprise, you can do that with anything provided you lead with a grenade. The magnum speeds the process up, but personally I feel the sniper deserves to be a little less dominant. And of course a sniper shouldn't let him/herself get taken by surprise. That's what team mates and radar are for.

I do, however, agree with your reticule idea. The DMR reticule is definitely my favorite out of all the reticules Halo has seen.

As for the cheapness of the 3sk, that just comes down to lag/host issues. On an even playing field tech-wise, fair is fair. The only reason 5sk feels less cheap is because it gives players more time to react, accommodating their latency.

At least that's my take on it. I guess it comes down to what value you place on kill-time. I like it faster. Not SWAT faster, but faster than 5sk. If a 4sk ZB DMR was an option, do you think it would be more balanced?
