Quit -blam!- stalking me you weirdo.

So I felt like making this, so everyone else can see my Private group suggestions.

I used to run a group, called "Hired Gun", that has since been deemed useless, and I no longer even use it. What we did was help Private groups with advertisements, and general help.

Here are my suggestions.

1. Private group sections.

Finding a specific group is annoying if you don't look in the right places.

My suggestion for this would be categories. They would be VERY helpful in finding groups.

Say for example, a Battle Field 3 clan. Now, the game is not developed by Bungie, and adding every game ever would be impossible. A clan option could be the primary option, and the secondary could be a write in for the game. You can check my site here, were I began to make that tool.

I may add more detail if people agree with this one, because its a BIG idea.

Instead of going going off group name you could use traffic of the group and and key words such as tags someone could put into there group when making it.. so when you search such key word "BF3 clan" that what will come up...

I think this would help you

I also totally agree with this idea. It would be a great alternative.

2. Posts notifications.

Do you ever find yourself checking groups to see if any one has posted? Well here is my idea to fix it.

Every forum has different icons. The green "plus" icon thingy? My idea would be to display it 12 hours after the last activiy, or be able to adjust the time. This would help people know were people are at, using forums. It would also allow for 1 click checking.

3. Group messaging.

Honestly, this has been suggested so many times, its ridiculous. I am pretty sure you all know exactly what I mean. I am a strong supporter of this.

4. Quick buttons.

I know there is a private group button that takes you to a list, but why go that far? Why not go directly to the group?

I would like a button under "Community" labeled Private groups.

This would work in conjunction with my other idea about notifications.

5. Better tools for Administrators.

This would add Custom Titles, only able to be given to 1 person, and not able to be given to more.

Also, custom colored title bars. I know it shows your rank, but is that necessary? Colors could go with titles, and would be pretty cool imo.

Also, a new permission should be added. Photo and video embedding. I know it would cause problems on the mains, but in Private groups, permissions could be added.

Please discuss these ideas, as I took much thought into it writing them. I reassure you I know alot about how groups run, and such.

This thread would have appealed to me more if it was written with crayons.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

Private Group sections is actually a fairly good idea, when you make your group you could select a category or even sub category, similar to posting a video on youtube.

Changes like these have been suggested in the past, and I really think if some of these changes were implemented in the new hawtness, it might help revive a greater interest in private groups.

Not only would the implications be for categorizing groups, but also for finding them.

If you check my site, you can see the aplpha version of the tool me and BlackHalos99 were working on. It has since been discontinued.

If more changes were added to make them more open ended, it would be great and promote tons of activity.

I honestly think Bungie.net groups are the greatest. I have never seen a tool that combines an exiting tool (Bungie.net), and lets people modify it to their liking, to their extent.

I added that to the OP. Great idea, and I agree with it.

Judging by your description I'd think you mean categories similar to the ones on Youtube. Or is tags?

2. Posts notifications.

Why? The green plus means someone just bumped the thread with a post. You're asking to slow activity down by a hell of a lot.

3. Group messaging.

Honestly, this has been suggested so many times, its ridiculous. I am pretty sure you all know exactly what I mean. I am a strong supporter of this.
Cool. Cool.

4. Quick buttons.

I know there is a private group button that takes you to a list, but why go that far? Why not go directly to the group?
Say you're not only in one group. How would you go directly to any of them? Unless you're talking about the group home. I hope not. I like that thing.

I would like a button under "Community" labeled Private groups. That would make no sense considering community usually means to the public, while private groups are...you know, private.

5. Better tools for Administrators.

This would add Custom Titles, only able to be given to 1 person, and not able to be given to more.

Also, custom colored title bars. I know it shows your rank, but is that necessary? Colors could go with titles, and would be pretty cool imo. That would be nice to screw around with. Even if the feature turned out to be pretty much useless.

[quote]Also, a new permission should be added. Photo and video embedding. I know it would cause problems on the mains, but in Private groups, permissions could be added.

Not really. Let's say embedding was allowed in privates. Now, let's say there was some shady member who offers to give you some candy if you join his group. You join, and everyone is sharing CP. That's a problem, whether on the mains or in private, and with a site this sheer size, it just isn't worth the risk for the web team. Emoticons are still cool, though, right? xDD

My Screenshots / My Group / Remember to follow the rules or you will get trapped in a box.

These ideas are good. I personally have always wanted to join an active group that has alot of custom games. I can never find any though. I would like to easily be able to join one.

Not trying to turn this into an ad group, but I suggest you talk to user AzNs4LiF3. He runs a customs group.
