1. M249-like weapon (SAW). I would have loved to take the gun off the mount just before boarding the scarab in H2.
2. Selectable Fire weapon. I love the AR and BR for such different reasons. Keep the scope though. It won't matter if you fire full auto, scoped in, at distance cause you won't hit anything anyway, just like the AR in CE.
3. I don't think the idea of turrets is great. The idea behind Master Chief is he's basically a retaliatory force. Keep his weapons attack weapons, fast/heavy impact. He's not camping out in defense or hanging around any place in Story Mode long enough to need defense weapons.
4. As much a human knife, (like the ones illustrated in CE Legendary badge), would be awesome. "Who brings a knife to a firefight". Any gun is better than a knife. But if you're looking for the silent aspect of weaponry then maybe a silenced human weapon or a near silent covenant projectile weapon.

Basically the coolest thing I thought about the games was the realism in the unreality (good work Robt McLees). The guns seem realistic in their behaviour but allow for the fun of running a gunning and just unloading clip after clip from both weapons then finding that safe haven to reload and do it all over again. If there are too many changes that slow down that fun, too many options to scroll through for 'nades, and a new assortment of defense weapons we'll lose that intensity.
