Maw

these are the things that irratate me on the campeign:

* The gravity of Halo: It must be over 1g for the dropships could not stop. But the marines coped well.
* What are the vehicles fuled by: the human vehicles (warthog and tank) never run down. What do they run off of? Did the finaly bust the Fule Conspiracy in 2400? What do the Covanant vehicles run off of? antimatter? electricity? what?
* On the alternate ending in the maw where the sarge and an elite are fighting, and they see the Autumn blow, the sarge servives, gets of the ring, gets back to Earth, and gets on the sequel. How could he servive the vacuum and an explosion so close?
* (brand new irratation) How much and what kind of radeoactive material does it take to propel the Autumn into subspace?
* (this is new as well) Cortana says somwhere,"That was a antimatter explosion" where are the covanant getting antimatter? Do they have a dilithium mine somewhere? Where could they get that?I can just see a grunt drop a magnetic bottle full of antimatter.

the air temperature at approximately 20,000m is usually around -48ºC, so the speed of sound is reduced. (higher temperatures = faster speeds. So if you could somehow get the temperature high enough it could possibly travel faster than light!). Anyway at that temperature the speed of sound is around 300m/s, or 673mph. So at that height the speed would be around 1346mph. pretty da** fast if you ask me

The autumn entered subspace. and even modern (for 2006) reach the Speed of Excape (approxamatly 7,000 fps) and the pod had slowed considerably before breaching the atmostsphere. and besides, this is Halo. That assumpion cannot be accurate for the atmostsphere density of the ring is unknown. Hey I just thought of another detale...

Ok I dont get your problem with gravity. They have no set numerical value. Besides, do you even know what 1 g is equivalent to? If you read my rant about how the gravity on halo makes no sense. I'll sum it up, if you want more details chat with me on aim at tmh88j. Anyway gravity is created by mass. Since halo's mass is a big ring, you naturally attracted to its center of gravity pull (which is in the middle of halo), just like how we are attracted to the center of earth.

Yes I know what a g is but since the ring is a, well ring it would have to spin to creat gravity, or have artificial gravity generators. since it does not spin, it has generators. What are they set to? The ring looks about twice the size of earth . Would the forruners set it accordingly?not likly. Humans have trouble in a 2g envirament. 3 is torture. You might want to see what 6 gs would do to your hollow, squishy bones.

I am not going to buy a book. The only Halo novel I will read is in the "goodies" file.
And about the fule, I'm probably just a "profectionist" but I think that they the Bungie Collective shoud pay more attention to detale. For instance: in Halo 2 the human vehicles are destructable. Thats a start.

No, warthogs dont require any power but the electricity coming out of your walls. You plug your xbox/pc in and then they work. Simple as that.

Ha Ha.

And adding to that what are you talking about the Autumn? aren't trekkies smart?

Be more specific. All I said was that the Autumn entered subspace. I got that where Cortana said in the legandary intro "video"," With the hole we ripped in subspace, they couldnt not track us. (I think the last part is close, but Im susre about the subspace part.)

Also your point on the vehicles fuel is just weird. Would you want to refuel the vehicles ever 10 minutes of gameplay or something? Yea thats exactly why bungie didnt put it in the game. And why does it matter what fuel the covanant uses? Will it make a huge twist in the plot or something.

Why would the gravity be over 1g? It's not gravity they're feeling, it's centripedal force pushing them AWAY from the ring... luckily they're standing on the inside which forces them onto the surface.

Oh, but it is spinning... spinning TO YOUR DOOM! MWAHAHAHA!!!

Seriously, though, I've always thought it was spinning. If it wasn't, it'd collapse under it's own weight, and that explains why the bits of delta halo flew outwards when the Autumn broke up.

how? the ring isnt spinning which suggests that it might have gravity generators.

ok well seeing that this is science fiction, I couldnt answer that. But the only thing that generates gravity is mass, so maybe if you got a couple planets and strapped them to the outside of halo it would cause gravity.

well if it were spinning that would cause centripetal force....so maybe there is no gravity, but just the pull of that.

1. The rings spin, creating centripetal force or g-force.
2. The human vehicles run off of fuel cells, like the ones you can blow up in halo 2.
3. The Sarge gets off Installation 04 by unknown means, but he is at one point picked up by a pelican and then picked up by the MC and his longsword where they then go on to steal a Covenant ship then a human ship then blow up a covi space station and in the end get home to Earth.
Other than that, what the heck are you talking about with the Autumn entering subspace (also known as slipspace or hyperspace)? You just threw that in followed by something about the lifepods, which have rocket boosters that stop them and have parachutes on their backs.

That didn't really happen, it's called an EASTER EGG. It was a video on Legendary, that's it, it did not change the course of the game.

Human vehicles are fueled by human stupidety (not that you're stupid, trekkie, I'm just saying), because there seems to be an endless supply of it. Bungie.net can even fuel 360 Warthogs for x amount of time.

Master Chief in Halo 2 isn't blind because he found the blind skull. Easter eggs = not storyline.

Please don't double-post, there's an edit button on the bottom-right corner of your posts.

C'mon, it's Halo! Science-fiction! Warthogs are probably solar-powered and so incredibly fuel-efficient that they only need a few minutes from a nearby star to keep them going to twenty days.

Bungie sez you'll find out exactly how this happens when the Halo Graphic Novel hits stores.

HBO tells all!

The problem is your dealing with a trekkie. Trekkies need to explain everything in real or theoretical science because they do a fair job of it in the Star Trek universe. In college I was watching Star Trek in the student lounge and these two "trekkies" were arguing about whether or not the Enterprise could cause electrical storms in a planets atmosphere by entering into a low-orbit. They were using real meterological terms and electo-magnetical properties that I learned in Physics II the semester before(and was trying to forget cuz I nearly failed that class). Finally I couldn't take it I went up to them put my arm around both there shoulders and said "Guys, it a frickin TV show. There are electrical storms because the plot calls for storms to interfere with scans and communication and were tired of just having regular storms being the cause. So they made up this explanation with NO scientific background that the Enterprise caused storms in the planets atmosphere. Get over it."

Don't get sucked into trying to explain "science FICTION" with real or theoretical science with a trekkie. The same way you don't try to argue with the nice people that come to the door and tell you that God/Jesus loves you but you need to believe as they do.

The reason these "trekkies" were using real scientific explanations is because they were discussing real science. To put it where you can understand they were arguing what would happen if the stuck 500 tons of steel in the atmostsphere. Trekkies are usually smarter than the "others". When I say others I mean non trekkies. This is not because being a "trekkie" makes you smart, but because smart people appreciate the excactness and reality of Star Trek. In the official servay," The Star Trek community is made almost entirly of high IQ scientist, phisicists, students and others."
Sorry for double posting, I ran out of room on the first one.

Now PLEASE stop about Star Trek. THIS IS THE HALO PC FORUM NOT THE STAR TREK FORUM

Someone has read Dan Brown's books. And by that I mean that's where ya got the questions about antimatter.

lol

Is that why they call it Science Fiction?

Trekkies are usually smarter than the "others".

lol

Well, when you refer to them as "the others," (esp. when using quotation marks, as this suggests that the value contained within the quotations is not the true or implied value) then yes, Trekkies are smarter than them. Why? Because your reference is open-ended, and you can include/disclude anyone you want. Yes, Trekkies are smarter than 4th graders.

This is not because being a "trekkie" makes you smart, but because smart people appreciate the excactness and reality of Star Trek.

lol, lol

The reality of Star Trek? 'nuff said.

In the official servay," The Star Trek community is made almost entirly of high IQ scientist, phisicists, students and others."

lol

There are the "others" again.

Oh, oh man... this was just too funny to read. I'm sorry. It's funny because I used to be a Trekkie when I was in junior-high and I used to think like this guy (Well, not quite to this extreme).

Sorry trekkie, I'm not trying to be mean or hurtful, it's just that I've been there, thought that.

At least I didn't poke fun of your spelling....grammar....punctuation....citations....etc.

I feel for you bro!

Sincerely,
Ex-Trekkie

Igg, A fair job explaining things in Star Trek? Half of it's the mumbo jumbo nonsensical ramblings of a dozen nerds and geeks locked in a tiny room forced to make technobabble for thier daily pr0n fix...

I mean c'mon, they make up a new form of radiation like every episode...

Somethin buggin me is this, look at all the consoles for computer functions like opneing doors while your ON halo...
now go to the maw when your opening up the fusion valves to over load it...

Why do Halo and The PoA have the same holographic computer consoles?

:P
