(Posted here at the request of Ninja On Fire)

a list of custom games created by everyone, not just the people on your friends list. A list that is searchable based on things like the map, the starting weapons etc.

That way, when you get sick of matchmaking and want to play in a custom game with the weapons and map that YOU want to play, you can simply search for it, or create one and have other people search for it.

Currently, yes you can create custom games, but only the 50 people in your friendslist can see them or join them. And most of those 50 aren't online at the same time you are. So it's impossible to get a custom game with the setting you want going with more than 2 or 3 people.

That sucks.

Matchmaking rocks, playlists rock, but adding a searchable list of custom games wouldn't take away from them either.

Halo 3 MP also needs bots and pistol as a default weapon (even if just the scopeless version).

That would please a lot of Halo fans.

That would be great. Some people may say "The idea of a friends list is to play with friends", but most of the time im in a game and I only know one person in it (The friend i joined through). Also, there could anyways be a Public/Non Public switch in the game settings for people that just want to play with people they know.

Dawn of the Dead video Here
6 Minutes of Hell video here

This has been addressed and considered before. Bungie had to make the decision to go with MM or the Custom games browser, because if they had both, they would draw too many people from each other for either one to be successful. It wouldn't be fun waiting half an hour for one game on MM, nor would it be fun spending half an hour searching for a decent game. Ultimately Bungie decided to stick with MM. I think a Custom games browser like halo PC's would be awesome, but they would have to figure out a way to make it work. Personally I would like that better than MM, but I will gladly take what ever Bungie gives us.

Best. Matchmaking. Idea. Ever.

I would love to see the return of hog races like from Halo CE. This would be even better assuming they put in different types of hogs like it's rumored they will. If there is a boat in Halo 3 then boat races too, or a combination of the two. That would be awesome.

Very good point. If I had to pick, I think match making is better from a hardcore gamers stand point. Also, I would hate to have 50 servers full of little kids playing Zombies and never be able to find a game I care about playing. I think it would be a fun add, but not over matchmade games.

Halo 3 will be the most popular live game ever. It will draw atleast a half a million people on live at any time. I suspect that most of those half a million will stick with matchmaking. There will be no shortage of gamers.

I really hope bungie brings back some of the odder modes and adds more modes for Halo 3. Race was a lot of fun

Halo 3 needs:

Massive Co-op support. To me, playing round after round against people (even my friends) just gets really old. Really, the best times were when friends and I sat around online and didn't even play each other, just goofed around on the maps (and by friends I mean friends that are across the country, not friends that live nearby ;) )... I've had some great fun play Star Wars: Battlefront 2 with a couple of my buds, playing over and over against the computer. We chill, talk, catch up, and blow stuff up together :)

I'd love to see either 1) a co-op branch of the campaign (a la Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory) where me and a few buds can tackle specific missions together, or 2) different co-op scenarios, ie: defend a stronghold against a swarm of Covenant soldiers. To me, those things would just be wonderful to do in Halo's awesome storyline.

Great Camera movements and angles with recording of gameplay.

Next Gen is all about camera angles and movements to see how beautiful the game is, and be able to show your friends

30 sec constant recording .... where after you just finished a great firefight you can save the last 30 sec snippet to show off to your friends

Matchmaking rocks, playlists rock, but adding a searchable list of custom games wouldn't take away from them either.

Well, it kinda would. The amount of players in matchmaking would be significantly less because a large chuck of ex-MM players would be in the customs area, probably extending the time that people wait for an MM game to be set up.

In my opinion, a more flexible matchmaking would go well in halo 3, a comprimise between mm and customs lists. A system similar to the current one would be inplace but most things would be chosen by the player to determine what matches would be searched for. The following basic criteria for an MM search could be changed through drop down boxes or some other selection medium:

* Number of players (2,4,8,16)
* Starting weapon (BR, SMG or Other)
* Team play (no, yes-2 or 4 teams)
* Map
* Rules (Slayer, CTF, Assult)

There are obviously ways which it could be improved but this would be the general idea.
"Official gametypes" could be chosen by bungie and added as an alternative to selcting each aspect of the MM search, where "assult BR" could be chosen, from a list made by bungie( similar to the gametypes in current h2 playlists) and each of the individual selections automatically changed to search for assult BR games.

Halo 3 MP also needs bots

With the much improved hardware of 360, this could be possible and add new dynamics to the game. But bungie would probably concentrate on someting else like a good lengthy campaign or finely tuned MP.

Multi-Player game options:

Spectator Mode (3rd person view) on a specific player (voice chat only with non-players) or

God View (free floating camera) on the whole battlefield (voice chat only with non-players) or

Cortana Mode (3rd person view with voice communications) on a specific player (voice chat with specific player only)

i dont like the idea of bots in halo 3

this is because it completely defeats the purpose of xbox live: playing with other HUMANS!

another thing, i think that people are trying to make Halo 3 a different game. i always see people saying "i want races" and "i want mini games"
this however is stupid because the reason that the Halo series is so popular is because it doesn't do that
it sticks with whats best ; hardcore action

and races will be stupid unless u can shoot the enemy
but the main things i'm looking for in Halo3 are:

(1): 32 player online
(2): much more vehicles
(3): no locking abilty for rockets
(4): old pistol
(5): bigger maps
(6): multi flag for multi team ( i mean have four flags, any of which you may . take)
(7): ability to play different species in Mulitplayer (eg. Brutes, grunts flood)
(8): grenades to be rarer but more lethal
(9): Toggleable --background music for playing in live and multiplayer?--

Grenades.

1. Needle grenades!
They stick to any non organic surface (walls) and spurt out up to a hundred needles instantaneously, they exit the grenade rapidly before slowing down to less-than-running speed, allowing you to plaster the enemy from aroung a corner, without the accuracy needed with a bruteshot, but due to it's lack of supply it would happen less often.

2. Bouncy grenades!
Does this really need explaining? Imagine the madness of it all! Mwa-ha! Mwa-ha-ha! BOOM! Plunk-kerplunk, plunk, plunk, plunkplunk, BOOM! Wow. And if you could couple it with rockets, it'd be awesome bangery all day long...

How it'd work

Simple really, use the D-pad. Four directions, four grenade types. this would also free up black for a whole new feature, and it sits next to white, which brings us to:

Light.

Why do we not have a light in multiplayer? I'm serious why? it wouldn't cause problems, and if people didnt want it they just don't turn it on. Add a light, bungie, purlease.
