Subject: How tall are the Precursors? (your opinion)

Let's all be honest here, the Primordial wasn't a Precursor, it was a Gravemind, let's get out of the way. What I want to know is, how tall tall do you personally think the Precursors are, not these 50 ft tall beings. I think they're taller than us, no doubt, but by around 4 ft or something. What do you think?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

the Primordial wasn't a Precursor, it was a Gravemind

Precursors and Flood are synonymous, therefore he can be both.

Not to disrespect in anyway but, people don't seem to understand, the Primordial was lying, to how far we don't know, but I can tell Precursors and Flood aren't synonymous. I believe that possibly a Precursor allowed himself to become infected by the Flood, and became part of a Gravemind which came to be known as the Primordial. The Gravemind likes mixing truth with lie. " I am peace, I am salvation. Join your voice with mine, and sing victory ever lasting." See where I'm coming from. I've thought quite a while about this, and this is just how I see it, hopefully, also the Primordial didn't know where the Precursors went.

the Primordial was lying

Right, there is absolutely no evidence to confirm this. We can't just keep on going dismissing everything in the novels by saying "oh it's obvious he was lying" otherwise 2 entire books would be wasted with new lore that would end up not being true. No, he was not lying.

The line between fact and opinion is being drawn pretty thin here. You don't know he's lying, you think he's lying - for what reason I do not know other than "he's the antagonist".

Except Gravemind wasn't lying there. The Flood represents the perfect lifeform, the final evolution of life - a being of total unity without any civil conflict, devoid of the delusion of morality. The Flood sees everything that's not with them as something that suffers, this is why they 'infect' them, this is why humanity was tested for the Mantle previously and was decalred worthy because they sacrificed a -blam!-ton of their population.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

"The Flood represents the perfect lifeform, the final evolution of life - a being of total unity without any civil conflict, devoid of the delusion of morality."

I don't want to get too off-topic here but I don't agree with that statement. In contrast It's a bit similar to the Reapers in ME3. 'Let us consume you lesser lifeforms so you can be part of us more perfect being types'

In that sense it does draw parallels to the ME universe [irrelevent I know]. But I see where you're coming from as the idea in theory is sound. But it lacks, in both sense of the word, humanity. Taking that away is taking away life, you might as well be a robot. But that's up for debate I guess, the idea of a perfect lifeform that is.

The difference between the two is that in the Flood you still exist as a human. Human Weakness has a Marine within the Flood trying to help Cortana in her struggle with the Mind. It would seem that you retain your human self, just not any physical form.

The Reapers give me the impression they just kill you. I found it odd that they tried to put the Flood's justification in as the Reaper's after ME2 when it seemed quite clear they melt you down into genetic material. You're genetic code still exists, but you an all of your race is straight up dead.

Do they really still exist as a human?
That might be a matter of opinion, but I saw that in a different light. More of a mental last stand against the flood by retaining humanity in the mind over a short period where eventually you lose that retention and fall into the flood's grasp.

Thanks for pointing out the differences between ME though but you understood what I meant in the comparison right?.

Anyways it was a good read. But once you're infected, I would basically consider you a lost cause. For example, what happened to Keyes, his memory being stolen from him by force till he eventually died [or for some, the intepretation being, lived and evolved into the perfect being]

I would argue that they are no longer human once you essentially become a mindless combat drone or in Keyes's case, a proto-gravemind thingmajingy.

Whilst I agree on your viewpoint that we sacrifice our right to self-determination and the ability to choose for ourselves, this seemingly doesn't reflect the point of view of the Precursors (which I was referencing in my 'perfect life form' bit).
