How many people do you think will be playing Halo 2 online for PC. Im so angry at Bungie for not letting us Xbox Live pple match up with the PC's, that would have been so great. All Xbox players seem to be over the game apart from the 300, 000 or so that still jump on everyday.

I really hope a lot of pple buy Halo 2 for PC and play online. I think that it will give the game some sort of life again.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Wasn't it already said H2PC and H2 for XBOX would be compatible somehow? I'm sure it'll rock when the time comes.

It would be quite unfair,a good mouse, keyboard will pwn the controller.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

If I need to pay to play, hell no. I need to buy an entirely new PC to run Vista anyway, so I probably wont be getting it. And I would rather not listen to a bunch of mouthy 14 year olds from live and play them on PC. Its bad enough with the idiots who play on PC now.

Hm...there's not just the conversion factors you'll have to contend with. There's also the fact that the Xbox players must pay for their online play. Unless they're going to offer online PC play for a price, it wouldn't be fair if Xbox users had to pay while PC players got all their services for free.

Xbox live isn't internet. Its a separate service so they still have to pay for internet.

We're not really angry about this. Cross-platform gaming is quite a difficult task and complicated. Not only that, but Xbox gamers who've been playing since November 2004 will have an advantage, because they would be more experienced, yet PC gamers at the same time would be given an unfair advantage because they have the mouse/keyboard. Not to mention, it wouldn't be fair for the dudes on XBL to have to pay for playing online and PC gamers playing H2 not, and no one wants to pay to play online H2PC.

The game still has some life. It's got alot of life. The game's only been out for two years or so and it still ranks as the top-played game on XBL.

I'm probably going to get H2PC, and I'm fine with H2PC players not playing against Xbox Live people, because in the end, it's all for the better, because it's hard to pull it off, and the PC gaming community and the console gaming community just don't interact so well..

Will I be Matchmade with Halo 2 Xbox players who have more than two years head start?

No, as the question indicates, the gulf (more than two years) between the launch of Halo 2 on Xbox and Halo 2 on PC means that a level playing field would be impossible. Add to that the fact that both versions have their controls and aiming system balanced and tuned for that system's abilities and you would have a lopsided situation at best. Halo 2 Xbox players will continue to play against Xbox and Xbox 360 players, and Halo 2 PC players will play against other PC players. Although we will support other control methods, including joystick vs. mouse, the player will always have the choice, so if he feels confident he can beat a mouse-player online, that’s his prerogative. We won’t be forcing him.

This is why they have levels though. I understand that Bungie think its hard, but i would appreciate if they would just say that instead of making a poor excuse.

The PC people would get the drift of it after a while, and then the competition would be insane. Imagine how many players there would be. I think that not matching them up with the XBL players is stupid because there is so much opportunity for a better way of playing the game.

And another thing with the price factor, XBL users like myself pay money annually to play ALL games over live, not just halo 2. And really, no xbox user is going to care about price, people who use XBL no that it is worth every cent, and if anyone has a problem with its small price, then they should just quit gaming all together.

everyone on this forum will, and you should be thanking Bungie for not letting us match up with all of you XBOX people we would own you so badly, you would call us modders or cheaters because we would own you guys so bad. but XBOXers have auto-aim, and huger hit boxs, we would still win.

This is uncalled for. This isn't giving XBL gamers a good image on PC gamers.
